Brief Role Description
To ensure part readiness for the full scope of local, CKD and direct purchase components to support the milestones in model years and new vehicle projects. To ensure part availability and supply of local, CKD and direct purchase components to support the pre-series build milestones in model year and new vehicle projects. To ensure that all systems, processes and documents are in place for the CP8 sign-off of all pre-series units. To ensure that all systems/processes are in place for handover to series production.
Possible Tasks within this Role
- Coordinating and leading a cross divisional commodity meeting to action risks/problems.
- Managing special component orders to secure the optimal introduction of changes into production to prevent volume loss, quality issues, or on-costs.
- Ensuring that call-off demands are correctly reflected at the supplier and that Quality and Engineering approval is complete before hand-over to CKD and Local material control.
- Managing pre-series stock levels by initiating the removal / scrapping /reordering of components based on pre-series build corridor and input from Engineering, Quality and Production/Pilot Hall to prevent overstock or incorrect HW/SW level in stock base.
- Monitor pre-series vehicle requests on COPS to ensure timeous SCE breakdowns are in line with an accurate BOM for sourcing parts in MY and new models introductions.
- Compile picking lists of pre-series vehicles and co-ordinate dunnage meetings prior to vehicle builds.
- Compiling and maintaining the pre-series database w.r.t component readiness, tracing and availability for the pre-series build milestones collecting information from various sources. (SV orders, ProCKD, CX, WEBEDI, PROMON, Aekos, Deviations)
- Evaluating the impact of Aekos and essential Running Changes on the Pre-series Bill of Material and approve accordingly with recommended introduction dates.
- Manipulating the Single car explosion to implement temporary changes (Aekos/deviations) by determining appropriate usage PR, colour and trim combinations as well as effective period.
- Investigating and sourcing components for ad-hoc queries to ensure the accuracy of the bill of Material.
Qualification requirements
Degree or Diploma in Industrial, Electrical, Electronic Engineering, Production Management, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Logistics, Transport, Information Technology/ Systems, or Data Science
Experience needed
- At least 3 years’ experience gained within the automotive industry in a Logistics environment.
- Project Management Experience.
Essentials
- Have analytical skills with an innovate approach to problem – solving.
- Computer literate, Microsoft Office Package (Word; Excel & PowerPoint) SAP, Power BI
- Understanding of RPA (Robotic Process Automation).
- Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently (self-motivated).
- Ability to prepare and present reports and presentations to management

Brief Role Description

Possible Tasks within this Role
- Conceptualizing & planning the optimal Work Process for both new projects & existing operations that is Robust & Sustainable to maximize Efficiency, Productivity & resultant SGK (Overhead) Costs.
- Play a pivotal role in the design, measurement and improvement of projects & current operations on process cycle times, both manual & automatic.
- Participating in design reviews to ensure that processes and facility layouts are designed to accommodate and provide the necessary disconnects and positioning that are efficiency orientated.
- Compiling MAC’s, SAB’s and Ergonomic assessments for operations in Arbeitsplan & to test the validity of the determined or compiled.
- Participating in new product planning requirements in order to meet future strategic needs of the Business unit and VW overall.
- Supporting process efficiency and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Developing more effective methods by design of layouts, material flow diagrams and man-assignment charts for improvement of quality and productivity.
- Preparing monthly report on activities in areas which support cost savings and improved output.
- Introduction of new and improved productivity and quality methods into production and non-production areas

Brief Role Description

Possible Tasks within this Role
- Conduct workplace measurement by evaluating direct labour operation.
- Track and control direct labour requirements based on company requirements.
- Drive, facilitate, coordinate and present continuous improvement projects.
- Determine and or evaluate plant capacity to ensure that production volume planning is done within the plant’s capacity constraints.
- Calculate the Takt time requirement based on the marketing demand to ensure that customer demand is met by calculating the Takt time based on the plants available production time in conjunction with OPR, DRR, TPM, team talks and tea and lunch breaks.
- Analyse and record the cycle time of facilities to keep track of bottlenecks and capacity compared to installed / design capacity.
- Document, track and control all facility capacity related information to ensure up to date records are kept by keeping a database of all facility capacity related information.
- Communicate Industrial Engineering related information i.e. man assignment charts (MAC), standard arbeits blatts (SAB), IE Monitor, work standards, cycle time maps, etc. accurately and on time to ensure that the relevant role players and audiences are informed with the latest information by using the following communication methods formal and informal meetings, email, issuing scheduled and ad hoc reports etc.

Brief Role Description
To provide accurate bills of materials (BOMs) for series and pre-series parts to internal and external supply chain partners for the production of vehicles and/or components destined for in-house-, local-, and export customers. To manage the successful introduction of engineering changes in series and pre-series production. To identify, analyse, and report / communicate out of line bill of material situations and ensure commitment to corrective actions. To advance the management of part number variance in the plant to ensure optimal products to satisfy internal and external customers.
Possible Tasks within this Role
- Evaluating the impact of engineering changes on the BOMs and providing accurate input into the change management system.
- Converting the Engineering Bill of Material (E/BOM) into a Production Bill of Material (P/BOM)
- Determining timing for the introduction of engineering changes at VWSA by considering the lead plant timing, related changes, supplier (local and foreign) lead times, inventory levels, vehicle definitions and customer requirements
- Securing continued supply of imported material for production of vehicles and components by coordinating the “Neuteile” (New Components) request process.
- Intervening in the P/BOM to prevent line stoppages through the implementation of temporary changes (deviations) to correct errors in usage, PR number, color, and trim combinations as well as effective period.
- Ensure correct documentation is put in place for the permanent correction of temporary intervention.
- Providing accurate BOMs to JIT-, JIS and kit suppliers on a continuous basis (as the vehicle passes through the production process) for the production of sub-assemblies.
- Investigating ad-hoc data queries related to the P/BOM to ensure the accuracy of the BOM so that parts are delivered timeously to the relevant Production areas
Qualification requirements
ND/Degree in Mechanical/ Industrial /Electrical Engineering or Production Management/ Supply Chain Management /Logistics/ Information Technology/ Data Science
Experience needed
At least 3 years’ experience gained within the automotive industry in a Logistics environment.
Essentials
- Working knowledge of VW Group Technical Data/Engineering Change Processes and Engineering Systems and BOM.
- Knowledge of the PEP process
- Understanding of RPA (Robotic Process Automation)
- Project Management Experience
- Computer literate, Microsoft Office Package (Word; Excel & PowerPoint/Power BI) SAP
- Ability to communicate at all levels (Good written and verbal communication skills.)
