Job Description:

As a Dispatcher you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Adhere to all health and safety practices and requirements.
  • Monitor equipment utilisation and maintenance process to ensure optimal availability during shift.
  • Monitor and manage the in-shift activities of the mining production operations through the system to ensure optimal production performance.
  • Manage the shift handover process to reduce inefficiencies associated with this process.
  • Monitor the data captured by operators and the system’s automatic event logging to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Monitor secondary(support) equipment utilisation and process to ensure optimal production support.
  • Monitor, support, and manage the in-shift activities supporting mining production operations.
  • Monitor loading accuracy through HPGPS systems: Provision, MineWare Guided Spotting, MineCare (Misfires and excluding zones).
  • Monitor the data captured by operators and the system’s automatic event logging to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Manage the shift handover process to reduce inefficiencies associated with this process.
  • Monitor equipment maintenance process to ensure optimal availability during shift.
  • Monitor and manage the in-shift maintenance activities to ensure optimal equipment availabilities(O4R).
  • Manage the maintenance handover process to reduce inefficiencies associated with equipment utilisation.
  • Monitor and optimise equipment fuel levels through systems. Distribution of shift reports.
  • Enter the correct statuses and reason codes, i.e. machines in production, on delay and down.
  • Assign drills and loading tools to the correct locations, and material grades and drill blocks are loaded up with correct design files at the beginning and throughout the shift.
  • Lock Operators in and use production systems accordingly.
  • Assign and define the correct priorities according to the weekly schedule.
  • Lock and bar equipment in line with production priorities.
  • Set the optimisation parameters (e.g. material blending, truck queueing, shovel hanging) on the relevant systems to ensure optimal production performance.

This role is in the Mining (MIN) at a Band 7 level reporting to the MIOC Coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Certificate / N3 Technical
  • Relevant Higher National Qualification on NQF5, e.g. Computer Science/Information Technology: System Support/Mining Management
  • Relevant Fleet Management System Certificate (Dispatch) will be an advantage
  • Ms Office Suite Certificate
  • SA Drivers Licence: Code B (Light vehicle)

Experience

  • 3-5 years of Mining production experience.
  • Understand equipment capabilities and limitations.
  • Understands the mining lifecycle, value chain and impact of mining activities on business and operational performance.
  • Understand the impact of operational stressors.
  • Understanding CAD system features such as mapping, GPS tracking, and automated routing.
  • Knowledge of radio protocols and procedures.
  • Basic understanding of GIS software to visualise and analyse spatial data.
  • Knowledge of MMS software for tracking production data, equipment performance, and personnel locations.
  • Understanding FMS software for tracking vehicle location, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules.

Job Description:

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • To undertake regular underground visits to monitor compliance to support standards and to delineate areas with possible strata control problems.
  • Carry out appropriate rock engineering measurement
  • Liaise with the Shift Supervisors to determine their individual needs according to their operational plans or problems encountered.
  • Input relevant data into plans and layouts.
  • Monitor underground conditions and reporting to the Shaft Rock Engineer.
  • Guideline management in standards for section safety and performance.
  • Audit mining standards for support and pillars to ensure conformance
  • Monitor legal conformance to procedures and standards in terms of rock engineering responsibilities e.g. Codes of Practice during underground visits.
  • Participation in the investigation of relevant rock engineering related incidents and accidents.
  • Support the Shaft Rock Engineer with rock engineering information to compile reports.
  • Do regular RMR’s during underground visits to build up a database.
  • Assist the Shaft Rock Engineer with the monthly risk assessments on the stope plans.
  • Assist with the reviewing of mining layouts.
  • Gives training to the operations personnel in strata control factors.
  • Monitors and reports stability of underground workings.
  • Assist with the testing of rock properties.

This role is at a band C5 level reporting to the Pit Rock Engineer.

Qualifications:

  • Matric with Maths and Science
  • Certificate in Strata Control

Experience

  • 1 year experience in Strata Control open pit
  • Mining experience sufficient to enable him to fulfill the role

As a Riggeryou will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include:

    • Use hand signals or communication devices to convey instructions to crane operators during lifting operations, ensuring precise and safe manoeuvres.
    • Ensure loads are stable and balanced adequately during lifting, including securing loads with appropriate rigging configurations to prevent shifting or falling.
    • Ensure proper communication and handover of outstanding tasks between shifts and day-shift teams.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Ensure all equipment is serviced and maintained using the appropriate as per job to achieve optimal functionality within the section and maintain cost-effectiveness.
    • Ensure work is executed as per Operating Model standards and procedures.
    • Ensure job cards are completed in full and returned on time.
    • Ensure all toolboxes and tools are kept in good condition.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Management:
    • Conduct all authorised rigging with minimum disruption to workflow and operations of others and without damaging nearby equipment.
    • Demarcate the rigging area as a safety measure and ensure the team and nearby workers are aware of operations for their safety.
    • Inform key role players of the operation, conduct the slinging process with limited disruption to workflow, and prevent equipment damage to minimise downtime.
  • Suspension Rope Head Manufacturing:
    • Where required, oversee the manufacturing of suspension ropes for shovels and lifts using correct rope types and manufacturing methodologies to ensure adherence to safety standards, including lifting profiles.
    • Inspect all manufactured ropes before use to ensure standards are met and allow for remedial and corrective actions where necessary.

This role is in Engineering (ENG) department on a band J4 level reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12/ N3 Technical
