Main purpose of the job

Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience
- PhD or equivalent qualification in a field relating to the disciplinary areas of the faculty
- Should have obtained at least the rank of associate professor
- A substantial track record of academic achievement and excellence in a disciplinary area of
the faculty. - Evidence of strong academic leadership in teaching, research and engagement.
- Evidence at least five (5) years’ leadership and management experience at middle and/or
senior management level in higher education. - Proven experience of delivery against organisational and individual objectives.
- Proven experience of generating third-stream income.
- Experience of motivating and inspiring teams in delivering objectives.
Desired Qualification/ Knowledge And/ Or Experience
- Should have attained the rank of professor.
- Evidence of at least eight (8) years’ leadership and management experience at middle
and/or senior management level in higher education. - Professional registration to the relevant professional body, where applicable.

Main purpose of the job
To provide strategic leadership, oversight, accountability, and management support to subordinate managers in all the unit’s daily operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently in the unit as per the unit’s founding document. In addition, to conduct appropriate research leading to publications and/or projects for postgraduate students, in conjunction with the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Studies (CEES).
Main tasks
- Develop policies and operational plans for the
unit - Manage and ensure marketing and implementation of
entrepreneurship development activities and income
generation (entrepreneurial) activities of the unit - Manage the performance and development of
staff - Develop, manage, and monitor the budget of the unit
- Provide reports to internal stakeholders 6. Supervision of post-graduate students and consequent
publications in accredited journals. - Represent the University at internal/external
Forums.
