Risk Management
Support through coaching, guiding and facilitating in the execution and implementation of the company Risk Management and control strategy to minimise risks, losses and exposures and ensure that risks are effectively and accordingly managed.

Security management/fraud/stock loss investigations
Ensure through appropriate security providers, that the site is adequately secured from a physical, electronic and guarding perspective.
Conducting a RACM audit to ensure compliance with fraud/theft risks, policies and procedures to mitigate or transfer the risk.
Insurance
To assist in ensuring that the CCBSA Corporate image and insurance fund is protected by ensuring that at corporate arranged events risks are assessed and safe for the public in attendance.
To monitor insurance claims and costs, in liaison with the Regional Risk Manager, with the objective of reducing risks and insurance costs, reducing claims and creating savings, ensure that applicable excess recoveries actually occur.
Occupational Health and Safety

Implementation of a Nosa 5 star system within Manufacturing and identified depots.
Ensure that the SHE management system is fully integrated with KORE and other external requirements.

Environmental
To identify appropriate corrective actions arising from NOSA, Insurance and legal compliance audits and manage corrective action.
Maintain the environmental management programme and monitor key environmental indicators for the sales and distribution environment. (S&D Specific leadership required)
Monitor with Occupational health practitioner results in respect of occupational health and environmental risk assessments and surveys (E.g. illumination and noise levels, emissions, ventilation etc.).
Legal Compliance
Monitor legislation in regard to health and safety. OHS Act and the various Regulations, COlD Act, Hazardous Substances and Major Hazard Installation regulations to ensure liabilities are addressed and to avoid as far as possible criminal and civil action against CCBSA, Directors and Executive Management, by ensuring adequate compliance levels without compromise.
Ensure applicable designations (legal appointments) in terms of OHS Act and regulations are in place.
Fire and explosion protection
Ensure that these risks are adequately addressed and to monitor audits/surveys/maintenance to ensure that fire and explosion risks are minimised.
Ensure fire equipment is adequate in relation to the risk, reliable and in a ready to use state. (Both fixed and portable)
Ensure ASIB certification for Fire pump and sprinkler system and weekly checks, services and maintenance programme is in place. (where installed).
Contractors and General
Ensure that all contractors undergo site SHE induction and comply with CCBSA internal contractor management requirements.
Any construction work conforms to the requirements of the Construction Regulations (required SHE plan etc) including Capital projects and Civils etc.
Develop sound relations with external legal authorities e.g. Dept. of Labour, local police and services, consultants, Insurance Agents and Approved Inspection Authorities, and relevant areas of expertise, to ensure sound corporate risk management practices.
LDPs (Local Distribution Partners)
The LDP must comply to basic SHE and legal requirements. The Risk Controller in liason with the relevant LDP manager must ensure legal compliance is adhered to by the LDP owner and staff. Regualr audits are required to measure performance.
As new LDPs are identified, the Risk Controller must conduct security risk assessments, and oversee the installation of the security system. Security must be monitored at regular intervals to ensure the site is adequately coovered to reduce the risk.

Job Description

We are looking for a talented individual with relevant skills and experience for a QFSE Manager role, which is based in Phoenix. The successful candidate will report directly to the Manufacturing Manager.
Key Purpose Statement
To manage the total Quality, Food Safety and Environmental function, in the relevant plant, to ensure compliance to applicable standards, procedures and regulatory requirements to deliver quality product to consumers.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Key Outputs and Accountabilities
Implement and Manage the Quality Business Plan for the Plant
Implement the Annual Business Plan (ABP), and drive, monitor and report on QFSE goals for the plant.
Develop plans for Laboratory Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) requirements and ensure the execution thereof.
Report on KPI’s aligned with internal Management, CCBA and The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC), including all Quality, Environmental and Sustainability parameters such as water usage, energy usage, plant waste and recycling.
Adapt CCBA, and relevant, Quality standards, protocols, and procedures for the plant.
Provide support to the Manufacturing & Technical (M&T) and Logistics teams at plant level to deliver quality products to consumers.
Ensure Product and Package Quality meet Legal, CCBA and TCCC Requirements
Ensure that Product and Package Quality standards are monitored and controlled for the plant according to legal, internal and Coca-Cola Requirements.
Ensure that ingredients and package quality is monitored and controlled according to standards for all internal products.
Resolve all quality issues from plant level to the customer to meet business requirements.
Ensure Good Laboratory Practices are implemented in all laboratories on site (on-line, Quality Assurance and micro) and that all consumables are managed and stocked accordingly.
Ensure that Laboratory Equipment is serviced, maintained, calibrated, and verified as per agreed standards.
Ensure process capability programs are implemented, monitored, and reviewed by all relevant QA, Engineering and Production departments on agreed frequencies.
Lead the implementation of Quality at Source in the plant and develop Quality Assurance functionality.
Implement and Manage Integrated SHEQ Environmental Compliance System for the Plant
Ensure that standards are implemented in line with International Standards Organisation (ISO 14000, 9000, FSSC 22000), Coca Cola (KORE) and legal requirements.
Develop and implement environmental systems and guidelines for the plant.
Determine environmental goals through Aspect and Impact Assessments.
Ensure adherence to the National Environmental Act and other applicable legislation.
Implement and maintain a document management system that addresses all Quality, Food Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, and Environmental requirements.
Ensure that all validation requirements for new processes and equipment are followed as per agreed protocols.
Support the implementation of Supply Chain Maturity Test (SCMAT) and ensure that the Quality team is actively involved in the implementation of principles and improvement projects as required.
Ensure commercialisation and change management processes are followed to support the seamless execution of the change.
Continuous Improvement of QFSE Management
Conduct loss and waste analyses and drive continuous improvement programs to ensure appropriate quality process capability.
Ensure the implantation of Statistical Process controls and capability to improve product and package quality.
Facilitate technical problem-solving regarding quality issues and manage trade and consumer complaints.
Ensure that improvement processes are in place to improve water and energy usage as well as waste and recycling.
Ensure QFSE problem solving capability for all site teams.
Ensure the implementation of the environmental monitoring plan to mitigate and control microbiological risks.
Manage and Implement Cost Controls to Ensure Adherence to Quality Budget
Ensures the acquisition of laboratory equipment in line with the budget and assumes accountability for the pay cost and management of contracts.
Implement and manage the Quality budget to ensure adherence thereto.
Accountable to ensure adherence to budget for all Quality, Food Safety and Environmental external contracts.
Ensure that quotations are available in time to update Rolling Estimates (REs) for consumables.
Ensure that all laboratory CAPEX requirements are communicated and planned for in the annual budget process according to the standard lab list.
Lead and Manage an Engaged Quality Team
Drive effective talent management practices to ensure an engaged team and sustainable talent pipeline, in accordance with business plan, to deliver on full potential.
Lead and manage the plant Quality team to allow for the achievement of set goals, an engaged team and high-quality work output.
Skills, Experience & Education
Qualifications and Experience
A relevant Bachelor of Science degree.
ISO 9000, ISO 14000, FSSC 22000 and HACCP training certificate.
A master’s degree in science (BSc) or a Food Sciences Total Quality Management qualification would be an added advantage.
A minimum of 5-8 years working experience in Quality role within the food industry, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Knowledge
Knowledge of Quality, Food Safety and Environmental systems (i.e., ISO 9000, ISO 14000, FSSC 22000, HACCP).
Good knowledge of Quality Management and Environmental systems aligned with ISO, KORE principals.
Sound understanding of applicable Quality, Food Safety and Environmental legislation.
Good understanding of Supply Chain Way (SCMAT) principles and practices.
