- Container Orchestration: Deploy, manage, and scale applications in Kubernetes.

- CI/CD Integration: Automate deployments with robust CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with tools like GitHub Actions and AWS CodeBuild is essential..
- Log Management & Analysis: Utilize tools like OpenSearch/Elasticsearch and Loki for log analysis and troubleshooting.
- Scripting & Automation: Develop scripts and tools using Python and Golang to automate tasks and processes.
- Database Management: Manage and optimize data workflows across databases like Aurora RDS PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
- Stream Processing: Work with Kafka for real-time data processing and integration workflows.
- Incident Management: Participate in on-call rotations, providing expertise in incident resolution and system troubleshooting
The skills we need:
- AWS Expertise: Deep understanding of AWS services and cloud architecture best practices.
- Kubernetes Proficiency: Hands-on experience in deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python and Golang for automation and development.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering and a minimum of 5 years experience in a software/technology environment is required.
- In the event that a candidate does not have a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Diploma (in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering), an equivalent experience requirement must be met, which equates to a minimum of 7 years experience in a software/technology environment.
- Certifications in AWS or Kubernetes are advantageous.
- At least 5 years of experience in a DevOps or SRE role.
- 2 – 5 years of experience in Python and Golang for automation, scripting and development
- AWS Expertise: Preferably 5 years comprehensive experience with AWS services, including EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, and Aurora RDS PostgreSQL and AWS OpenSearch.
Ability to design and manage scalable and resilient cloud architectures. - Kubernetes Proficiency: Preferably 5 years hands-on experience with deploying, managing, and scaling applications in Kubernetes environments. Practical experience with Helm and ArgoCD
Understanding of containerization concepts and tools like Docker/Podman. - Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Preferably 5 years experience with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to manage and automate cloud resources effectively. CloudFormation is preferential.

This position reports to the Head of Category Marketing for Food & Retail of Mr D.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the conceptualization, implementation, and management of high-impact promotional marketing campaigns to enhance brand visibility and drive Retail orders on the Mr D platform.
- Oversee the update and maintenance of the Mr D Demand Planner and promotional calendar, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals for the retail sector, focusing on strategic planning for weekly deals and monthly promo campaigns related to the Shops vertical.
- Collaborate with merchandising and advertising on the monthly retail plans.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of consumer target markets and lead the creation of meaningful promotional strategies that resonate with these audiences, particularly for the retail and Shops vertical.
- Partner with the merchandising team to optimize customer conversion strategies and achieve business growth objectives within the Mr D app.
- Collaborate with the Retail Merchandising, Advertising team, and cross-functional (Operations and Product) teams to develop, coordinate, and implement campaigns and promotions in alignment with strategic goals and promotional calendars.
- Drive strategic planning and execution of new retail feature launches, including the development of ongoing educational content on product features and differentiators to increase customer engagement.
- Provide strategic oversight and management of various campaigns, ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness from conception to execution.
- Act as a key liaison, working closely with brand, content, and social teams to leverage integrated marketing strategies for Mr D brand campaigns, with a particular focus on retail and the new Shops vertical.
- Lead coordination with the social media team, ensuring a strategic approach to monthly content planning and management, as well as managing high-value paid influencer partnerships.
- Collaborate with internal specialist teams to design and execute performance media and CRM strategies aimed at growing orders and customer base for the Mr D Retail sector and Shops vertical.
- Establish strategic partnerships with Takealot Group marketing representatives for campaign execution, maximizing cross-selling opportunities, and tapping into new consumer bases.
- Monitor and evaluate campaign performance, delivering insightful monthly, weekly, and daily reports on promotional activities and strategic initiatives for the retail sector and Shops vertical.
Skills, knowledge and abilities:
- A hands-on project manager with high attention to detail.
- A highly driven individual who is motivated to drive meaningful sales revenue for the business through retail marketing initiatives including – promotions, product launches and co-marketing opportunities with brands and third parties.
- A person who is a very strong relationship builder and can unlock opportunities with brands and third parties.
- Ability to identify key advertising opportunities and translate these into implementable plans
- Motivated, and capable to focus on and hit aggressive growth targets
- In-depth understanding of the advertising sales and tools
- Skilled in managing high-value accounts and managing relationships at an executive level

Qualifications and experience:
- Demonstrated success as a strategic leader with a proven track record in academic achievements and professional career.
- A minimum of a 3+ year degree in business, marketing, or communications.
- 7+ years of experience in a senior retail and marketing role, with a focus on brand management and strategy
- Substantial experience working across multiple marketing channels, including Digital, ATL, BTL and Partnerships, with strong evidence of impactful results.
- Proven track record of leading successful brand projects and initiatives, with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills to effectively influence and manage cross-functional teams.
