Duties/Pligte
Strategic workforce planning:
Co-developing a client specific staff plan to improve staff retention, succession planning and the improvement of staff mobility.

Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of the client base through continuous engagement.
Recruiting and advising on sourcing high calibre candidates to fulfil strategic requirements.
Ensuring accuracy of the appointment process in terms of the Labour Legislation, Code for Employment Equity and Diversity, Personnel Plan, HR Policies, Guidelines and Procedures.
Executing the full employment process, from recruitment and selection up to the final placing, including handling appointment-related administration, the onboarding and offboarding processes.
Advisory consultation:
Providing HR statistics to identify trends in the environment.
Monitoring and quality assurance of HR processes and procedures in line with auditing requirements.
Providing relevant information in terms of Labour Legislation, Code for Employment Equity and Diversity, Personnel Plan, HR Policies, Guidelines and Procedures to the line managers and staff.
Continuously communicating key HR decisions and deadlines to ensure consistent service delivery.
Providing advisory support regarding change management processes.
Client engagement, service delivery and relationship management:
Developing and building effective relationships with stakeholders to encourage integration of HR best practices into planning and operation.
Pro-actively developing relationships with relevant HR functional areas (e.g., Remuneration and Benefits, sun-e-HR, Employee Relations, Wellness, Training and Development, etc.) and HR colleagues.
Regularly communicating on HR service offerings.
Developing improved service delivery mechanisms in the context of a changing environment when needed.
Ad hoc duties:
Successfully completing project goals as agreed upon.

Performing ad hoc tasks relating to Human Resources administration.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
At least a three-year qualification in Human Resources.
At least five years’ experience in HR as an HR generalist.
Knowledge of Human Resources remuneration budgets.
The ability to understand the expectations of the environment.
The essential drive and enthusiasm to align policy and business requirements.
Knowledge of Labour Legislation and Human Resource policies, guidelines and processes.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, as well as facilitation skills.
The ability to translate objectives into action.
Proficiency in MS Office and an understanding of the digital landscape to optimise functioning.
Experience in competency-based interviewing.
Knowledge of job evaluations.
A strong client orientation with the ability to consult to varying levels of clients, from junior level up to senior management.
Strong administrative skills with the necessary ability to excel under pressure and meet deadlines.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
BCom degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field, with CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
At least four years’ proven relevant experience in accounting in a financial management environment.
Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and cost management.
Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

The Department of Agronomy within the Faculty of AgriSciences at Stellenbosch University (SU) is dedicated to advancing the science and technology that underpin key agricultural sectors, including grain and oilseed crops, pastures, and vegetables. An emerging focus is to leverage new advances in crop production systems and precision farming technologies to enhance productivity and sustainability. This role emphasises precision agriculture, integrating innovative technologies to optimise field crop production through data-driven decision-making and precision management practices. This position supports the objectives of the SU-BFAP Research Chair in Precision Agriculture which aims to perform focused research in the discipline of precision agriculture, balancing business-related problems and pure academic research. The Chair will collaborate with other research and funding institutions to advance the field and disseminate research results to benefit the broader industry.


Duties/Pligte
Participating in an active and productive research programme within precision agriculture technologies for field crops, and publishing such research in relevant, peer-reviewed journals.
Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in compliance with the general teaching focus of the Department of Agronomy, with a particular emphasis on precision agriculture and field crop management.
Developing and evaluating course material related to precision farming techniques and technologies.
Participating in active research funding applications to support precision agriculture initiatives.
Co-supervising postgraduate students, particularly those involved in precision agriculture research projects.
Engaging and maintaining national and international research and industry partnerships and networks to advance the field of precision agriculture in field crops.
Engaging in community or industry interaction projects that promote the adoption of precision farming practices.
Participating in administrative service delivery at departmental, Faculty, and University levels.
Collaborating with the Bureau for Food and Agricultural Policy (BFAP) to align research projects with industry needs and ensuring practical applications of research findings.

Reporting to the Steering Committee on all Chair-related matters and contributing to the strategic objectives of the Chair.

Duties/Pligte
Anchoring the teaching and training of palliative care and providing an academic home while collaborating with interdisciplinary expertise available in the Faculty.
Coordinating and providing training in palliative care within the MBChB curriculum.
Providing postgraduate training in palliative care, e.g. registrars in family medicine and in other disciplines where the need arises.
Supporting palliative care teaching and training within other disciplines such as nursing and rehabilitation.
Developing relevant research and new evidence in the field of palliative care
Providing clinical care in the field of palliative care within Metro East, Metro Health Services.

Supporting the Metro Health Services in development of palliative care services within Metro East.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
Registered as a medical practitioner with the HPCSA.
A postgraduate qualification in palliative care.
Experience in undergraduate or postgraduate clinical teaching or training.

Clinical experience in the field of palliative care.

The Department of Genetics (DoG) and the Institute for Plant Breeding and Biotechnology (IPBB), the Faculty of AgriSciences at Stellenbosch University (SU), are dynamic environments with a wide variety of research activities. The incumbent will teach genetics at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and will be responsible for establishing and expanding a research portfolio focused on activities related to genome editing in plants as part of the IPBB’s activities.


Duties/Pligte
Coordinating, administering, and teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules in molecular genetics and biotechnology.
Supervising postgraduate students at BScHons, MSc, and PhD levels.
Conducting high-quality research in the use of new breeding technologies, specifically genome editing, for the improvement of crops.
Publishing research results in internationally recognised, peer-reviewed journals and presenting the results at national and international conferences.
Collaboration and developing partnerships with relevant agricultural industries to secure third-stream research funding.
Developing regional, national, and international academic and research networks.

Involved in administrative service delivery at the Institute and at departmental, Faculty, University, national, and international levels.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
PhD in molecular plant genetics, molecular plant biology, or equivalent.
Research experience in molecular plant biology, specifically genetic transformation, genome editing and tissue culture techniques, particularly for perennial woody fruit crops.
Peer-reviewed scientific publications, commensurate with the level of appointment.
Postgraduate supervision in molecular plant biology, specifically genetic transformation and genome editing, commensurate with the level of appointment.
Proven experience with, or the ability to obtain external research funding, commensurate with the level of appointment.
The ability to work within a multidisciplinary research team.
Proven experience or the ability to create and maintain an international research collaboration in the aforementioned field.
Good administrative and management skills.

The ability to teach exercise to music classes as and when required, both as fill- an and scheduled class instructor.
Effectively managing the group exercise budget as prescribed for the group exercise instructors.
Taking responsibility for new product development initiatives.
Managing all aspects of staffing within the group exercise section, which includes the recruitment of instructors, training and development, performance management, any disciplinary matters, and any administration as required under the guidance of the gymnasium manager.
Striving to reach set usage and occupancy targets in line with the strategic objectives of the gymnasium.
Preparing monthly and/or weekly reports regarding membership base and usage of all classes.
Ensuring that all member queries, complaints and compliments are resolved timeously.
Ensuring that all general administration within the section is completed timeously.
Ensuring that Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are developed, established and implemented across the group exercise section within the facility.
Ensuring that all instructors are suitably qualified to teach the respective classes.
Organising monthly workshops where knowledge sharing is encouraged.
Ensuring that daily, weekly and monthly instructor contact sessions are being held and accurately recorded, including class reviews.
Implementing and managing an effective Health and Safety process to ensure that the aerobics facilities are neat and tidy at all times, and complying with the Health and Safety regulations.
Assisting the general manager with any other ad hoc projects.
Being part of the senior management team of the gymnasium as Head of Department and Manager on Duty.
Establishing an effective and positive supply chain management system with key suppliers to the facility.
Adhering to the company’s financial and HR policies and procedures at all times.

At least two to three years’ experience in the health and fitness industry.

The Department of Private Law in the Faculty of Law at Stellenbosch University (SU) is responsible for teaching several of the core modules in the LLB curriculum. This includes the Law of Persons, Family Law, African Customary Law, Law of Succession, Property Law, Law of Civil Procedure, Law of Contract, Law of Delict and Specific Contracts. The Department also offers various electives at final year level and a selection of modules at postgraduate level. The Department also has a strong focus on research within these fields as well as other Private Law areas.

The Faculty is looking to fill a vacancy in the Department of Private Law. The main responsibility of the incumbent will be to contribute to excellence in the Faculty of Law. The incumbent will lecture primarily in the field of the Law of Persons but will also assume further teaching responsibilities within the Department and Faculty, taking into account relevant factors. The incumbent will furthermore conduct research and provide postgraduate supervision that focuses on the Law of Persons. The incumbent must also contribute to the administrative functioning of the Faculty and perform other duties as assigned by the Faculty.

Die Departement Privaatreg in die Fakulteit Regsgeleerdheid by die Universiteit Stellenbosch (US) is verantwoordelik vir die onderrig van verskeie van die kern-modules in die LLB-kurrikulum. Dit sluit in Personereg, Familiereg, Afrika Gewoontereg, Erfreg, Sakereg, Siviele Prosesreg, Kontraktereg, Deliktereg en Spesifieke Kontrakte. Die Departement bied ook verskeie keuse-modules op finalejaar-vlak aan en ‘n keur van modules op nagraadse vlak. Die Departement het ook ‘n sterk fokus op navorsing binne hierdie vakgebiede asook ander gebiede binne die Privaatreg.

Die Fakulteit beskik oor ‘n vakature binne die Departement Privaatreg. As hoofverantwoordelikheid sal die posbekleër ‘n bydrae moet maak tot uitnemendheid in die Fakulteit. Die posbekleër sal primêr op die vakgebied van Personereg doseer, maar sal ook verdere onderrigverpligtinge binne die Departement of Fakulteit moet opneem, met inagneming van tersaaklike faktore. Die posbekleër sal voorts navorsing moet doen en nagraadse begeleiding moet verskaf wat fokus op Personereg. Die posbekleër sal ook moet bydra tot die administratiewe funksionering van die Fakulteit, asook ander take verrig soos deur die Fakulteit toegewys.

Experience in undergraduate teaching.
