Job Purpose
The Department of Local Government, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified, competent and dynamic individual to support and strengthen the capacity of municipalities to improve their service delivery.

Minimum Requirements
An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification) in Public Administration; A minimum of 3 years relevant experience.

Recommendation
A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence. NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.

Key Performance Areas
To strengthen the internal capacity of municipalities to deliver on their constitutional mandate; To manage and coordinate municipal support interventions; Monitor and evaluate all projects; Gather all relevant information related to municipal performance and compliance.

Competencies
Knowledge of the following: Knowledge of public sector finance; Financial legislation in the public sector; Applicable financial management systems; Monitoring and reporting procedures; Statistical packages; Municipal finances; Project management. Skills needed: Proven Computer literacy in MS Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc); Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Communication skills (written and verbal).

Remuneration
R 444 036 – R 532 602 per annum (Salary level 9)

The Department Local Government, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to provide administrative support to the section: Fire Rescue Services by means of managing of staff records, expenditure control, the procurement of resources for the Sub-directorate, as well as providing inputs into the annual budgeting and expenditure processes. To provide logistical support at meetings I workshops including taking of minutes.

Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification).

Key Performance Areas
To provide administrative support to the Sub-Directorate; To exercise control of expenditure in the Sub-Directorate and provide inputs into the Sub-Directorate’s budgeting processes; Manage and process staff records; Store Room; Taking of minutes and logistical arrangements of various workgroups as identified by the sub directorate Head.

A good understanding of the following: Admin procedures; Filing procedures; Creation of spreadsheets; Project financial projections; Basic financial. R216 417 per annum plus 37% in lieu of benefits (Salary level 5)
