We at RCL FOODS are in search for a Lab Analyst to join our Grocery Business Unit. The role will be based in Randfontein and report to the Lab Team Leader.
Minimum Requirements
- 2 – 3 years working experience.
- Knowledge and experience in HPLC and UPLC equipment.
- Must be able to perform maintenance and troubleshooting on the UPLC equipment.
- ISO 17025 Technical Signatory Experience (+1 Year).
- Diploma/ Degree in Analytical Chemistry/Food Technology/Biotechnology.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Development, modification, verification and validation of methods.
- Analysis of results, report, review and authorization of results.
- Including statements of conformity or opinions and interpretations.
- Communicate results to the relevant Head of Department.
- Analyse of incoming raw materials, intermediate products, and final products.
- Recording of results on the database.
- Follow up on products placed on hold.
- Perform analysis accurately according to test methods as provided.
- Perform internal calibrations as per schedule.
- Collection of samples for analysis as required.
- Report any issues to Laboratory Management.
- Verification of product identification provided by the factory.
- Working in a manner to ensure the safety of Co-workers and yourself.
- All equipment to be handled as per procedure.
- Report any failures of machinery to the Lab Controller.
- Assist with sample preparation for external testing.
- Ensure sufficient retention samples are collected for storage for all products as stipulated.
- Assist with clearance of retention rooms as per schedule.
- Report any injuries.
- Provide mentorship to students during in-service training.
- Take responsibility for the contents of the certificate that he /she is authorizing.
- Have sufficient current knowledge of the method used, as well as the objectives of the test.
- Fully conversant with the management system, ISO/IEC 17025 and SANAS R and TR documents.
- Check the correct use of SANAS symbol as per R04.
- Analysis of final and shelf live products according to product test checklist.
- Make sure all the work of the shift is executed.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Internal Auditor within our Sugar operating unit in Malalane. The main purpose of this role is to provide independent oversight regarding the effectiveness of and adherence to Group internal controls.
Minimum Requirements
A Postgraduate diploma in Accounting or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Chartered Accountant (CA)
SAP experience would be advantageous
At least 5 years’ experience in auditing activities
FMCG industry experience would be advantageous
Duties & Responsibilities
Audit Planning and Execution:
Engage line management to determine current business processes and documents.
Identify best practices.
Identify risks and internal controls already implemented.
Evaluate adequacy of controls.
Recommend the most appropriate controls (where non-existent), aligned to organisational policies and procedures.
Assist the Internal Audit Manager in preparing a risk based internal audit plan on an annual basis.
Conduct a risk assessment of assigned audit/functional areas within required timelines.
Participate in the determination of the scope and approach of the audit in conjunction with the Internal Audit Manager.
Implement risk based audit programmes.
Supervise audit clerks during the execution of audits.
Conduct audits in accordance with the Annual Audit Plan and Audit Methodology.
Conduct audit testing of specified processes to test the adequacy of the design and operational effectiveness of controls.
Ensure test results are documented on audit working papers.
Evaluate the test results and make recommendations to correct unsatisfactory conditions.
Follow up on queries raised by the Internal Audit Manager upon reviews of working papers and conclude on audit test results.
Validate audit issues identified through discussion with management and a review of mitigating controls.
Prepare, manage and track progress of Control Self Assessments communicated with business units throughout the group.
Reporting
Record deviations from the established processes.
Compile findings, root causes, potential effects, recommendations and line mangers commitment (what, when, how) for consideration by the Audit Manager.
Engage line management in discussion about the audit findings and request management responses.
Respond appropriately to the Internal Audit Manager’s review notes.
Systems Improvement
Advise management on systems and processes requiring improvement.
Follow up on audit findings to ensure adequacy and timeliness of corrections.
Raise awareness of internal audit and importance of a sound control environment with the Group.
Continuous Development
Work with other Senior Internal Auditors on a daily basis to ensure that the audit team attains the KPI’s.
Utilise regular communication channels and team meetings to promote continuous improvement and best practice.
Participate (in an advisory capacity) in cross function team meetings to deliver on operational requirements and translate this into action items.
Information and Data Management
Ensure data is captured accurately and regularly onto the information system/schedules to enable access to reliable data and reporting for trend analysis and decision making.
Share relevant data with management teams to enable reliable business decision making.

In this role you will be responsible to deliver a base forecast with promotional uplift to facilitate the S&OP process and enable visibility of unconstrained demand to the business unit.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Commerce/Economics Degree, or related Supply Chain Degree
2 years’ experience in Demand Planning or Supply Chain Role and have worked in a FMCG company.
Intermediate ability in Excel is a prerequisite.

Duties & Responsibilities
Running the Activity and Demand reviews as part of the monthly S&OP process to highlight the forward Forecasted volumes and assumptions to the Business unit.
Work with Customer teams to understand and comment on the monthly sales performance and the impact to the category 12-month volume outlook
Work closely with the front-end team to generate and maintain the 12-month rolling forecast including uplift for promotions (document the assumptions including promo mechanics, volume, price and regions).
Use historical data on comparative promotional volume to improve the accuracy of the agreed promotion uplift.
Review the promotional uplift expectations vs forecast assumption once promo has ended
Manage Forecast Bias and Accuracy across the SKU and customer portfolio by monitoring sales vs. Forecast weekly and monthly and making adjustments to the forecast where required.
Generate and maintain statistical baseline forecasts in the system
Cleansing of sales history, at a weekly level, based on insights from customer teams.
Publish the forecast and KPI’s in the agreed format, in line with the agreed timeline for weekly reports and monthly scorecards.
Work with the cross-functional team on all new innovations, including Masterdata creation, volume assumptions, discontinuation of current products
Monitor and track progress of innovation vs the forecasted volumes and highlight and risks to the business regarding under / oversells.
Maintain the product hierarchy master data in accordance with both demand planning and business requirements.
Work with the Master Data team to ensure hierarchy changes are appropriately actioned and communicated to the business.
Provide input into Customer Hierarchies when requested.
Ad hoc / Other:
Maintain all weekly and monthly reports, files and documents centrally and in an organized fashion on SharePoint.
