Brewing Development Trainee

The key purpose of this role is to address the acquisition of technical skills and experience for graduates as well as familiarize them with the company culture and principles. The rigor of the programme should ensure that an individual that has completed the programme can be allocated an area of responsibility immediately. To enhance technical and leadership skills required to manage a beer making process and beyond. The Technical Trainee programme is a structured 24-month programme.

Performance & CI Manager

The key purpose of this role is to manage the foreign exchange, money market, debt and cash management risk on behalf of the subsidiaries of ABInBev that operate within the Africa region. This entails monitoring, maintaining, executing and reporting on the group treasury risk management policy, under the banner of the Africa Zone Treasury.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Occupational Health, Safety and Risk Ensure that Brewery quality and safety targets are met
  • Ensure overall reliability of production Process optimisation and asset management and plant availability
  • Adherence to AB InBev and global packaging quality standards
  • Ensure Packaging strategy implementation and support
  • Ensure line audits are complete by machine as per Zone Technical Experts guidelines
  • Ensure training need analyses are conducted and training plans developed for team members
  • Ensure appropriate competencies are developed in the team, and ensure cross skilling occurs within the packaging shift team
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to Packaging Levels 1,2,3
  • Analyses plant performance data to identify opportunities for performance improvement and waste reduction
  • Analyses plant failure modes and investigate causes for repeat failures to correct root causes

Laboratory Technician​​ (Analytical)

The key purpose of this role is to carry out sampling, sample preparation and analysis of raw materials, in-process samples of brewing product from Brew house, Yeast & Fermentation and Bright beer​.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Sampling is carried out as per manualised methods​
  • Relevant apparatus, equipment and reagents are prepared as per manualised method ​
  • Analysis is performed using fundamental laboratory techniques and practices​
  • Accurate results generated, recorded and reported on time​
  • Carry out lab equipment maintained and calibration as per manualized methods​
  • Comply to company safety policy and procedure(Hazardous substance, PPE, MSDS, Safety incidents, lab safety rules)​
  • Adhere to 5S and Housekeeping schedules​
  • Conduct required and requested quality audits, completing the appropriate documentation and communicating the results ​
  • Coach, check, mentor and assist shift-based production teams on problem solving and correct use of problem solving techniques​
  • Take part in regional and divisional process optimisation initiatives as require ​

DATA CAPTURE CLERK

The key purpose of this role is to accurately capture maintenance-related data into the relevant Planned Maintenance System (e.g., CMMS) to ensure effective maintenance reporting and planning. This role also supports engineering administrative duties, including SOP/SWI documentation and VPO-related tasks.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Data Capture:

  • Receive job cards from the Engineering Planner and artisans.
  • Capture maintenance job card information into the system accurately and timeously.
  • Run and distribute reports on maintenance performance metrics.

Maintenance Planning Support:

  • Assist the planner with prioritizing maintenance tasks.
  • Generate and print job cards from the system.
  • Capture ad-hoc maintenance requests into the system and generate corresponding schedules.
  • Distribute maintenance schedules to engineering controllers.
  • Collect completed schedules after maintenance day, capture results, and ensure timely closure of all tasks.


Downtime & Performance Tracking:

  • Generate and display key performance indicators (KPIs) for engineering performance and individual artisans.
  • Trend downtime to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Team Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
  • Actively contribute to both personal and team development.
  • Champion and support VPO (Voyager Plant Optimization) initiatives within the department.


Visual Management & Workplace Organization:

  • Ensure all displayed data is current and relevant.
  • Apply 5S principles to maintain a clean and organized workspace.


Data Management:

  • Ensure high levels of accuracy in data captured.
  • Maintain data integrity and ensure reports are generated and submitted on time.
  • Minimize data capture backlog.
  • Validate data to ensure correctness and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Reporting:

  • Capture maintenance data accurately in the CMMS.
  • Extract and compile reports as required.
  • Maintain accurate problem-solving documentation.
  • Ensure reporting capabilities are optimized for business use.

PACKAGING OPERATOR

The key purpose of this role is to safely operate and maintain defined Packaging equipment and related processes in order to achieve optimal effectiveness.

Key roles and responsibilities

  • Operating equipment and manage associated processes & performance in packaging
  • Interpret and implement production plan for shift
  • Operate manual and automatic machines on line as per standards
  • Ensure process quality and productivity
  • Perform administration work such as tracking and monitoring of processes and take action when required
  • Manage PIMS & POMS and take corrective action on negative trends
  • Use of MES etc. process checks and downtime acknowledgment
  • Use of OFR’s (As per triggers)
  • Contribute towards AB reports as required
  • Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by raising SIO’s.

Minimum requirements:

  • Minimum Grade 12
  • Post matric or equivalent (e.g. N4) -National Diploma or Equivalent
  • Technical background
  • Added advantage IOB Certificate
  • SAM/LOTOTO
  • Training: Min 9 months on the job training and having completed SKAP within 12 months
  • Experience within a Packaging FMCG industry
