- PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- The Mechanical Foreman is responsible to ensure a safe, efficient and productive engineering maintenance through the supervision of a team of artisans on the shaft. This must be done according to regulations and all laws relevant to the tasks.

- QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12
- Diesel Mechanic / Auto Electrician Trade Certificate
- Specialised technical courses from TMM Original Equipment Manufacturer
- Law and Standards with Supervisory Courses – Added Advantage / To be completed within 2 years of appointment
- EXPERIENCE
- Supervisory experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ TMM Trackless Mobile Machinery experience
- KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Valid driving license
- English literate
- Basic computer literacy (Word/Excel/Outlook/Delta)

A Stoper fulfills a shift role in a stoping area underground to ensure a safe quality blast per day. Responsible to ensure that rules/regulations and management specifics pertaining to daily tasks are compiled with, and to deal with/report any breaching thereof. Responsible to ensure the health and safety of persons in his/her team and for persons entering his/her area of responsibility - WORK OF ROLE
- Before Proceeding U/G – Read Communication Book. Miner to fill in Safe Declaration Appointment (Reg. 2.10.6)
- Charging up
- Drilling
- End of Shift (U/G)
- Face Preparation
- Lamp room – Collect Lamp. GDI (Gas detecting instrument) and proceed underground
