Description
Purpose of the Job:
To analyse data systems, create automated systems to retrieve information from database and compile reports. The department will also use data to solve problems, to turn data into information and information into insight that will lead to informed business decisions, and to create detailed specifications that specify data sources, data flows, data transformations, data storage and reporting. The person appointed to this position will report to the Senior Specialist: Data Analysis.
Key Performance Areas:
•Create detailed specifications that specify data sources, data flows, data transformations, data storage and reporting;
•Produce documentation such as source-to-target-maps, data dictionaries and data models;
•Create test cases and scenarios used to ensure quality assurance;
•Interact and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to identify data sources, find data definitions for master and meta data as well as formulate and implement solutions;
•Promote the use of existing enterprise data standards to enhance data quality, ensure constant compliance and adherence to data governance principles;
•Process live and confidential data according to specified guidelines;
•Evaluate changes and updates to source production systems that could impact reporting and eventually business decisions;
•Interpret data, analyze results and interpret trends enabling continuous improvement in data quality and overall business performance;
•Defines, implements and standardises metrics, reports and dashboards for the business;
•Deliver key metrics, reports and dashboard with interpretation.

Requirements
A degree or B Tech in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) or a related discipline with at least 4 years’ working experience in a field where analysis of data was major, preferably in a financial services sector. Proven experience building logical and physical data models using industry best practices, patterns and frameworks. Demonstrate knowledge of database and data warehouse design. Knowledge of BI methodologies. Practical technical experience using database management tools and reporting tools.

SENIOR SPECIALIST REGULATORY FRAMEWORK (Pretoria)

Description
Purpose of the Job:
The Senior Specialist will be responsible for assisting the Departmental Head with the on-going review and development of regulatory frameworks as well as engaging with National Treasury regarding the development of primary legislation in respect of which the FSCA has jurisdiction. In addition, the role will also be expected to manage stakeholders and provide regulatory support. The person appointed to this position will report to the Departmental Head: Regulatory Frameworks.
Key Performance Areas:
•Assist the Department Head with the on-going review and development of regulatory frameworks and developing and implementing the Department’s workplan.
•Managing/coordinating long-term projects or participating in external forums (both locally and international) will also be an added advantage.
•Engage with National Treasury and other key stakeholders regarding the development of primary legislation in respect of which the FSCA has jurisdiction.
•Design, manage, co-ordinate, lead and execute projects in the Regulatory Framework Department and broader FSCA, especially projects focused on the investment environment.
•Author and/or contribute technical inputs to research, discussion, position and issues papers, legislative proposals (including statements of need and impact), guidance notices, interpretational rulings and other relevant documents.
•Provide technical input, support and guidance to the Departmental Head and regulatory teams to inform the development of policy proposals and secondary legislation.
•Conduct relevant research (including comparative research) to improve the standard of regulation in line with national and international developments and requirements.
•Facilitate and coordinate meaningful input to / comments on documents and legislation published for consultation.
•Provide regulatory support to other FSCA departments.
•Manage and promote relationship with local, regional and international regulators, industry bodies, government departments and any other internal and external stakeholders, including participating in local and foreign initiatives, committees, conferences, meetings, and the like.
•Prepare and compile management or other reports.
•Develop, implement and maintain operational processes and procedures to improve the functioning of the Department.

Requirements
A legal or B. Com degree, or such other degree/qualification that is appropriate in the context of policy and regulatory framework development, or the investment environment (collective investment schemes, asset management, linked investment service providers, general investment funds, etc) and specialised technical knowledge and experience is a requirement. At least 8 years’ relevant experience in the financial services industry in a policy development, legislative drafting, legal, compliance or investment environment technical support role. Legal drafting, authoring documents and/or capital markets experience would be an added advantage.

Purpose of the Job:
To define the customer interactions of the customer facing solutions. To support the ongoing design of our customer facing solution and digital experience. Responsible for designing visually appealing, intuitive, and user-friendly software applications. With a deep understanding of user research, design principles, and industry trends, collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and product owners to develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that will drive the development of our software solutions. • Work collaboratively to help identify opportunities to better understand customer’s needs.
• Analyzes and interprets what is happening in the industry, driven by the latest news / incidents.
• Work proactively with technology-, product- and other key stakeholders to come up with new and creative ideas.
• Define user experience concepts and components for the product or project using tools such as wireframes, prototypes, and process flow diagrams.
• Deliver UX designs that would meet the customer experience requirements.

A National Diploma in IT or Computer Systems or equivalent, with at least 4 years’ experience in UX design (preferably in customer facing websites and portals). The candidate must have experience in running usability sessions and collaborating with other functions as needed to ensure the proposed UX is feasible and adds value. Deep understanding of design principles and industry trends. Demonstrate working process including user workflows, wireframes / mockups, design exploration and interactive prototypes, delivered to a high level of attention to detail. Basic understanding of HTML and CSS would be an advantage.

FSCA BURSARY FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES (Pretoria)

Description
The Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) is committed to increase the representation of People with Disabilities in line with its Diversity and Inclusion objectives. To this effect, the FSCA will be offering bursaries to eligible students with disabilities.
Description:
The FSCA offers bursaries to matriculants and/or students with disabilities who are studying at any recognised South African university or any accredited institution of higher learning.
What the Bursary Covers:
The FSCA bursary for students with disabilities covers full-time studies in Data Science / Business Management / BCom: Economics / BCom: Finance and Bachelor of Laws degree. This bursary covers registration costs and tuition fees, prescribed textbooks, accommodation including meals, monthly allowance for incidental expenses and supportive learning device such as a wheelchair, Zoom Text software, or a Jaws Reader, computer or any device recommended by a medical doctor.
Duration:
The bursary will be awarded for the duration of the identified qualification.
What is Expected
The bursar(s) will be required to enter into a work-back contract with the FSCA proportional to the number of years they have been funded by the organisation. Experiential learning will be provided to bursar(s) during and upon completion of their studies.
