Technical Assistant

Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Computer Literate
  • Minimum of 1-year relevant experience in monitoring Water and
    Sanitation services in Informal Settlements
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Prepared to work outside normal working hours when required
  • A valid code B/EB Driver’s license

Key Performance Areas

  • Conducting general site visits, evaluating current services
    and recommend improvements.
  • Conducting Site visits in line with Departmental Service
    Delivery Budget Implementation Plan (SDBIP) targets.
  • Investigating existing water and sanitation infrastructure and
    services against available technology to ensure services are
    sustainable.
  • Compiling technical reports from statistics and investigating
    water and sanitation events to monitor trends in infrastructure
    deterioration.
  • Assist with monitoring and reporting via SharePoint and SAP,

Professional Officer

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree/BTech/Advanced Diploma in Human
    Resource Management or relevant qualification
  • 2 to 5 years relevant working experience in Training and
    Development.
  • OD ETD Qualification would be advantageous.
  • Qualified and/or Registered as an Assessor/ Moderator with
    relevant SETA would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of SDA, SETA’s, SAQA, NAMB and other relevant
    Training and Development legislation would be advantageous.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office Application, SAP)
  • Valid code EB drivers’ licence

Key Performance Areas

  • Implements ETD strategy and policy within the
    Water & Sanitation Directorate in compliance with legislative
    requirements, Corporate Policies and Procedures.
  • Contribute to the Compilation and Implementation of Workplace
    Skills Plan (WSP).
  • Develop a Skills Matrix to integrate to the WSP, draw WSP
    Statistical data and SAP BI Report
  • Design and Develop learning materials, Assessment toolkit

Technician

Requirements

  • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • ECSA Registered as a Candidate Engineering Technician.
  • 3 – 5 years’ (post first relevant tertiary qualification) experience.

    Special Conditions:

Key Performance Areas

  • Providing technical advice to District’s on matters pertaining to
    specialized support on maintenance and network/equipment
    performances.
  • Ensure that adequate standards are adhered to maintenance
    projects are implemented as planned, the distribution network
    system complies with the NERSA license requirement and
    NRS 048.
  • Co-ordinating, in liaison with Engineering Branch, electricity
    supply project developments for residential, commercial and
    industrial usages, as and when required.
  • Provide technical support in implementing and auditing planned
    maintenance programmes, developing tender specifications, and

Administrative Officer

Requirements

  • Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
  • A relevant tertiary qualification will be an added advantage.
  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience at an appropriate level in an
    office administration environment.
  • Management support experience
  • SAP experience e.g. procurement and notifications, requisitions and
    works orders.
  • Computer literacy – MS Office Applications (Word and Excel).
  • Additional computer applications would be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to collate information, draw up spreadsheets and
    submit reports.
  • A valid driver’s licence (code 08) would be advantageous.
  • HR generalist experience i.e. time and attendance/ training and
    development.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

  • Coordinating the implementation of procedures, systems and
    controls related to the receiving, updating and recording of
    transactional/ operational information and activities associated with
    the functionality.

Epic Data Analyst (Professional Officer)

Requirements

  • BTECH or First Degree in a relevant field with preference to
    data science.

  • Competency in two official languages of the Western
    Cape (One of which must be English)
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience required in a data analysis or
    related environment
  • Experience in data models and reporting packages

Junior Policy Analyst Strategic Policy

Requirements

  • A relevant 3-year tertiary qualification (postgraduate
    degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience

Key Performance Areas

  • Research: Conduct research in relation to the review and
    development of strategies, policies and by-laws and to support
    the work of the Branch.
  • Policy analysis: Use professional knowledge to analyse
    strategies, policies and by-laws under development and
    provide recommendations to ensure policy development is in
    alignment with the City’s strategic objectives.
  • Policy development: Manage a policy portfolio by engaging
    with senior line officials, providing process support and advice,
    drafting policy instruments, and communicating professional
    policy knowledge.
  • Strategic support: Provide strategic support by means of
    research, policy drafting, memo drafting, minute taking, meeting
    and workshop participation and preparing presentations.
  • Communication: Communicate the outcomes of policy
    research, analysis and development through presentations
