RCL FOODS is currently recruiting for an R&D Intern to join the Research and Development department based in Pretoria West. The successful incumbent will support the R&D department in the development of new products, factory trials and be responsible for all test baking and reporting thereof.

Minimum Requirements
Qualification:

BSc or BSc(Hons) in Food Science or equivalent qualification
National Diploma or BTech in Food Technology or equivalent qualification

Duties & Responsibilities
Product development & Innovation

Assist R&D Technician / Manager in the development of new products as per the project brief.
Screening of all raw materials to ensure they are suitable for the application and/or manufacturing plant.
Responsible for testing alternative ingredients for cost or quality improvements
Conduct product shelf life tests and complete reports
Competitor benchmarking
Assist with setting up tasting sessions and preparation thereof
Assist in internal and external customer presentations
Quality Assessments

Conduct softness, texture, volume and water activity tests, where required.
Basic interpretation of data collected from the quality assessment instruments
Administration & Reporting

Maintain the sample register & library
Recording and archiving of all laboratory trial data
Recording of all recipe revisions during the product development process.
Compiling of all test bakery reports
Completing shelf life test reports

Job Description

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Machine Minder with our RCL FOODS Speciality Spartan operating unit. This individual will be responsible to maintain and operate processing line machinery to ensure optimum production and to maintain the condition of the machine(s).

Minimum Requirements
Grade 12/Matric.
A first line maintenance course of equivalent would be preferable.
Two years’ experience in a FMCG or mechanical environment.
Knowledge of and use of hand tools.
Knowledge of bakery equipment would be advantageous.
Willingness to work shift patterns including some weekends.
Duties & Responsibilities
Machine Operation

Set up the machine to ensure the required quality standard of product.
Monitor the speed and state of the machine to ensure maximum efficiency.
Highlight and pinpoint problem areas on machinery in order for corrective or preventative action to be carried out.
Report any deviations from quality and food safety standards to Production, QA and Engineering management.
Adhere to the ISO 14000,18000 and 22000 standards in terms of production and machinery operation.
Health and Safety Compliance

Report unsafe conditions and acts to management.
Start up and shut down machines in a safe manner as required by Standard Operating Procedures.
Conduct regular safety inspections on machinery in line with Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
Machine Maintenance

Conduct routine and first line maintenance on machinery to ensure machinery is mechanically and functionally sound.
Assist artisans in attending to machine breakdowns.
Conduct basic fault-finding on machinery.
Isolate machine and remove components that require cleaning, lubrication and inspection.
Housekeeping

Ensure the workstation is clean, neat and tidy and in line with food safety standards.
Clean the machine in line with operating guidelines and food safety requirements.
Complete checklists and records for traceability and audit purposes.
Team Coordination

Take ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and demonstrate effective self-management in terms of planning, prioritising and self-development.
Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of work are consistently and accurately maintained.
Inform relevant parties in the event of tasks or deadlines not met, the potential risks thereof and provide appropriate resolution.
Support and drive the business core values.
Manage colleagues and clients’ expectations and communicate appropriately.

Job Description
RCL FOODS is looking for an energetic individual to join the finance team in the role as a Debtors Clerk. The successful candidate will need to manage credit exposure, maintain and reconcile the Debtors Ledger, be resposible for invoicing and issuing credits to the customer/clients, reconcile and prepare debtors statement and initiate follow up procedures for unpaid accounts.

Minimum Requirements
Education and Qualification

Matric
3-4 years experince in a credit control enviroment as a debtors clerk
Proficient in MS Excel
Previous experince of JDE or an ERP system advantageous
Skills

Logical thinking
Excellent written and verbal communication
Fluent in english
Attention to detail
Strong routine administrative skills
Problem solving skills
Duties & Responsibilities
Debtors and Administration

Perform period ending procedures and adjustments
Run preliminary reports
Perform reconciliations
Perform report analysis
Receive electronic payments, post customer payments on system
Perform cash application to outstanding invoices
Monitor unapplied cash accounts
Send statement to customers, track payment due dates
Contact customer for late payments, escalate late payment issue to management
Ensure that all generated credit notes are attached to the actual claims, resolve claim issue
Process credit notes, discounts, rebates
Open new customer account on JDE for supplier and drivers
Obtain and copy claims where no credit has been passed, claims to be sent to relevant depots
Claim tracker to be completed, no claims to age beyaon 30 days
