Job Purpose

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Advanced Diploma in Sport & Leisure Management and / or equivalent (Bachelors degree in Sport Managment or Sport Science)
- 6 months and more experience and expertise in using sport science testing equipment (e.g., metabolic analysers, EMG, EEG, biomechanics cameras, isokinetic devices, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research testing and training in a sport science context.
- Proven experience working with students in practical’s, tutorials, lectures, and research supervision.
- Strong administration and project management skills.
Recommended:

Job Purpose

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
SQL Server:
- Maintain a SQL Server 2-node cluster servicing 18 active instances.
- Oversee the migration of SQL instances to the cluster, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
MIM 2016:
- Automate user provisioning and deprovisioning processes using MIM 2016.
- Remediate issues related to duplicate user accounts with similar names but different staff IDs in Active Directory.
SCOM2016:
- Manage and potentially activate SCOM for operations management as needed.
SharePoint & MS Teams:
- Create, automate, and deprovision SharePoint and OneDrive sites.
- Assign policies for MS Teams to ensure compliance and efficient collaboration.
ASPEN Hysys:
- Perform annual updates of the ASPEN server license for Chemical Engineering process simulation.
- Adapt to the updated licensing policy, which now requires updates every two years to accommodate new software versions.

Job Purpose
CPUT libraries is expanding its resource base through the acquisition of physical and electronic content as well as the development of repositories for inter alia research output, research data, and Open educational resources.
This position will need to take responsibility for the provision of bibliographic and metadata support for the repositories, as well as other electronic and physical resources. In order to do this the incumbent will be expected to do the following:
- Original and descriptive cataloguing and classification of monographs, serials, electronic resources and digital content in accordance with the latest editions of AACR, LCSH, DDC, RDA in MARC 21 format or selected metadata standards where appropriate.
- Develop and streamline procedures and workflows for original and complex copy cataloguing of electronic resources, including repository resources, online journals, electronic books, databases and integrating websites, representing varying levels of difficulty, subjects, languages and formats.
- Manipulate metadata to provide multiple access points for library information resources regardless of location or format.
- Seek opportunities for collaborative efforts within Library Technical services and beyond to enhance and broaden metadata operations.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide metadata support and services to facilitate access and discoverability of the institutions digitized, born-digital and print content through metadata creation, enrichment and maintenance.
- Develop and provide training for library staff regarding resource description and metadata management.
- Develop and apply expertise in linked data, semantic web applications and ontologies for discovery of bibliographic data and information.

Job Purpose
The position is critical to the overall client services operations of the University Libraries as they solely depend on the smooth running and maintenance of the IT infrastructure.
The person occupying this position plays a critical role in providing:
- Strategic leadership and guidance in the provision of Library IT services within CPUT Libraries.
- Take responsibility for managing, planning, organizing and controlling the IT department operations within CPUT Libraries.
- Contribute to the strategic objectives of the Library and implementation thereof.
- Foster relationships within the CPUT environment, the academic environment, CTS, IT service providers, community organisations and public users and to promote healthy co-operation with CPUT Libraries that will enhance the link between the University and its environment.
- Manage a team of library IT personnel responsible for maintenance of the library management system, overseeing of software integration projects (e.g. integration with ITS, Library Research Platforms with RIMS, Human Capital, etc), AskUs platform, the library eResearch platforms including the Institutional Repository, Data Repository, the Library Web environment, the national Higher Education Statistics database, Open Journal (OJS) and monographs publishing platforms, data visualisation integrations for statistical reporting as well as the maintenance of computer labs within all university libraries.
- Contribute to and support the library’s eResearch activities at the university.
The position also plays a key role in coordinating the university libraries participation in regional, national and international IT related projects that promote Open Science, scholarly and knowledge dissemination activities.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
- 4-year degree qualification in computer science, information systems or information technology.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience with responsibilities of managing IT infrastructure.
- Knowledge of Linux system administration and maintenance of Linux and PHP based systems.
- Working knowledge of database systems such as MySQL, PostGres, ORACLE and SQL queries.
