JOB DESCRIPTION:
Key performance areas include but are not limited to:
- Report to the exam office prior to each exam session;
- Keep exam papers and materials secured at all times;
- Ensure that exam venues are set out to standard;
- Admit students into exam venues;
- Identify, seat and instruct students in the conduct of their exams;
- Distribute exam papers and materials to students and to deal with candidate queries;
- Numeracy required.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12, with any other qualification attained from any SAQA-accredited institution;
- Experience as an Invigilator at the Vaal University of Technology would be considered first;
- Age requirement of between 25 – 60 years old;
- Unemployed graduates;
- Not currently registered or recently graduated students at VUT (at least within two years) .

nGAP LECTURER (RETAIL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT) Phase 10
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Key performance areas include but are not limited to:
- Complete a Doctoral qualification with specialisation in Retailing or cognate field;
- Contribute towards effective teaching and learning in the field of Retail Business Management as
delegated by the Head of Department; - Contributing to online course design, maintaining quality learner guides, subject files, developing
and maintaining teaching portfolios of evidence that adhere to high-quality standards; - Assessment and moderation of summative and/or formative assessments;
- SAQA guidelines;
- Participate in national and/or international conferences and publish findings of completed research
projects in accredited journals; - Active participation and/or registration with relevant professional bodies;
- Liaise with the W&RSETA and other stakeholders on projects initiated by the research leadership
Chair; - Fulfilling student and academic administration and reporting duties in line with responsibility; Mentor
junior lecturers and tutors within the department through team supervision of postgraduate
students, as an additional role; - Display sound interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team player.
APPLICATION CRITERIA:
Qualifications and Experience:
- A relevant with specialisation in Retailing, Business Management and/or Retail Business
Administration with a minimum pass mark of 70% (Compulsory); - Willingness to register for a doctoral qualification with specialisation in Retail Business Management
and be able to complete within six years; - Possess sound technical and theoretical knowledge in Inventory handling and Management,
Project management, store merchandising and warehousing; - Membership and certification with relevant professional bodies would be an added advantage;
- High technical proficiency: Ms Office Suite, Ms Outlook, Ms Teams, Ms Projects & use of 360-
degree EON technology assets.
To be eligible for selection for a nGAP post, applicants must meet the following criteria, in addition to
meeting criteria specified by the university:
- Demonstrate interest in becoming an academic Be a South African citizen;
- Be 40 years and younger;
- Show evidence of eligibility to undertake doctoral study;
- Be willing to commit to placement at the appointing university for the full duration of the nGAP
Skills:

adaptability skills; - Report writing skills;
- Facilitation, assessment and online course design skills;

- Strong initiative and the motivation to work without extensive supervision

LECTURER- FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Key performance areas include but are not limited to:
- Provide academic leadership within the field of Financial Accounting.
- Teach and assess at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; develop and enhance the
Financial Accounting curriculum, contributing to the ongoing development, maintenance, and
quality control of the program. - Lead research initiatives in the field of Accountancy, producing accredited research outputs and
supervising graduate and postgraduate students. - Build and maintain industry relationships, including consultation work and collaborative research.
- Engage with the community through participation in flagship programs and projects.
- Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by the line manager
APPLICATION CRITERIA:
Qualifications and Experience:
- A master’s degree in accounting or a related field, or possession of CA(SA), CIMA, or ACCA
designation. - Strong knowledge of the theory and application of IFRS in Financial Accounting.
- A minimum of three years of tertiary education or related industry experience.
- Research experience and published outputs in DHET accredited journals, as well as presentations
at conferences, will be an advantage. - Affiliation with a relevant professional body is advantageous.
