Purpose of Job
The successful candidate will be part of a team of 16 professional nurses working at the Occupational Health department in Sasol Secunda. The candidate will report directly to the Medical Surveillance Manager. The team is working straight shifts, Monday – Thursday 07h00-16h00 and Friday 07h00-13h00.
Medical Surveillance is done daily in this department. All the relevant screening tests are performed here. Issuing of results and quality checks are also part of the day-to-day activities. Liaising with the OHMP and the other Occupational Health departments are a vital part for this position. Good interpersonal skills, conflict management and professional work ethics are required to be part of the Medical Surveillance team.
FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS
Executing of a planned medical surveillance program of physical assessments, clinical examinations, and biological monitoring. This service will promote worker health and safety while delivering quality patient care. By optimizing the use of available resources and delivering quality patient care and excellent service, a high-quality surveillance program will be delivered to our stakeholders. Key Accountabilities
- To co-ordinate and facilitate the capital budget process during August RCP and January budget cycle. Doing of analysis and presentations to decision makers.
- Preparation and co-ordination of the Mining monthly capital approval forum (CAF), including meeting governance and associated requirements.
- Secure the translation of the long-term Mining strategy into a viable project portfolio for the rolling capital plan (RCP).
- Support Mining inputs, analysis and presentations to CSAC meetings
- Engagement with capital stream leads to ensure alignment with the holistic operational Mining complex plan.
- Support users of the Group Economic Models (GEM’s) and provide guidelines to ensure consistent principles are applied.

B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 8 years of experience,
OR
National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 10 years of experience
Basic computer literacy is a must (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
A working knowledge of SAP
A working knowledge of meridum
Certified maintenance strategy developer (wish)
Working Experience
8+ relevant years overall Mechanical Maintenance technician.
Management experience will be advantageous on outages.
Mills experience is required.
Boiler-specific experience will be advantageous on non-pressure parts-Mills, Air heater, Drag Chain, Burners, and Soot blower.
