ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH PRACTITIONERS

(GEORGE X 1 & MOSSEL BAY X 1)

Salary: R 420 527.28 – R 545 884.92
Task Grade: T12

Minimum requirements:

  • Relevant B Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent qualification.
  • Completed 1-year minimum community services (statutory requirement).
  • 2-5 years relevant experience in environmental health or related field.
  • Computer Literacy MS Office.
  • Valid Driver’s License Code B.
  • Registration with the Health Profession Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
  • Proficient in at least English and another official language of South Africa.

Duties:

  • Execute legislative requirements and compliance matters in relation to Municipal Health Services.
  • Assess, monitor, ensure corrective action, control and prevent environmental factors that can
    adversely affect human health.
  • Implement processes, conclude and resolve investigations, and generate compliance notices and
    documentation to ensure enforcement of relevant legislation.
  • Assist with long-term planning and execute the expected activities.
  • Assist with the managing of the interface and relationships with key stakeholders in support of
    meeting objectives.
  • Render health educational programs and awareness sessions within the community in the GRDM
    jurisdiction.
  • Plan, co-ordinate and control the tasks of self, to deliver on projects and tasks as required by
    specifications and within the budget and schedule.
  • Review and study relevant information from various sources to develop new information as
    required.
  • Assist with the optimisation of the financial management of the municipality through the use of
    policies and procedures.

PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO THE DEPUTY EXECUTIVE MAYOR

Garden Route District Municipality is situated in George and serves the people in the Southern Cape
and Little Karoo. Garden Route District Municipality seeks to achieve the integrated, sustainable,
and equitable socio-economic development of its area as a whole by: • Ensuring integrated
development planning; Promoting bulk infrastructure development • Building the capacity of
local municipalities in its area to perform their functions and exercise their powers where such
capacity is lacking • Promoting the equitable distribution of resources between local municipalities
in its area to ensure appropriate levels of municipal services.

Period of appointment:
The contract period will be equal or linked to the term of office of the current
Political Office Bearer.

Total remuneration package:
R270 900 – R351 624 per annum (Package will be determined on a CTC basis)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant Office Administration and/or Secretarial qualification.
  • 2-3 years administration or secretarial experience.
  • Language Proficiency in at least two of the three official languages of the
    Western Cape (Afrikaans and/or Englishand/or Xhosa).
  • Computer literacy and MS Office
  • Code B driver’s licence
  • The candidate must be willing to work after-hours

    attention of the Deputy Executive Mayor;
  • Liaise with the Deputy Executive Mayor on the costing of events and provide
    input for budget purposes

Fixed-Term Contract

Period of appointment:
The contract period will be equal or linked to the term of office of the current Political

Total remuneration package:
Basic salary: R473469.24 – R614585.04 per annum (Package will be determined on a
CTC basis).

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric
  • Minimum Municipal Competency
  • Valid Driver’s License Code B
  • 3 Years of experience in local government working in a political office
  • Computer Literacy in office applications

  • Responsible for all Social Media platforms and print media press releases for the
    Office of the Deputy Executive Mayor.
  • Facilitate communication and functions between the Office of the Deputy
    Executive Mayor and the Municipal Administration.
