FOUNDATION PHASE TEACHER

Full time position to begin January 2026.

Zithulele Independent School is a small, independent primary school based in the rural Eastern Cape village of Zithulele (close to Hole in the Wall). Our classes are multi-lingual (isiXhosa & English) with 2 teachers and 2 grades per class from grade RR to 7 (e.g. grades 1&2 combined). The children come from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds which makes for a unique and stimulating teaching environment. We value celebrating differences, learning through doing and constructive communication. We are looking for teachers who are hard-working, creative and passionate about helping all children to reach their potential.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase
  • SACE certificate
  • Police Clearance certificate
  • Experience teaching in a classroom environment
  • Experience with the NumberSense and Time 2 Read curriculum would be an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Competent in isiXhosa
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable with the values of a Christian School
  • Good administrative and computer skills
  • An adventurous spirit and a love for Jesus
