LABOUR RELATIONS MANAGER

SALARY SCALE: R589 432.00 – R765 132.00 – (TASK GRADE 16)

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Manage and control of the Labour
Relations Section
· Provide advice to Management and
Line Managers on Labour Relations
matters
· Recommend disciplinary action and
undertake preliminary investigations
· Represent the employer on the
CCMA, Bargaining Council and complicated disciplinary hearings
· Manage, develop and control of
Labour Relations Policies
· Manage grievances procedures
· Manage the functioning of the Local
Labour Forum
· Manage Labour Relations Training
process
· Develop and Manage strike contingency plan
· Monitor Labour Relations trends and
advise Management accordingly
· Internal and external communication
on labour relations matters
· Financial Management for the
Labour Relations Sections
· Managing healthy employment
relations and duties between the employees, organised labour as well as
ensuring that the Municipality adheres
to the Legal prescripts

REQUIREMENTS

· Matric,
· Relevant NQF Level 7
quali!cation/Post graduate Diploma in Labour
Law or equivalent
· 5 – 8 years’ relevant
experience covering a
broad range of Labour
relations function
· Code B driving
license.
· Sound knowledge of
research and analytical
theories and practices.
· Fully conversant with
all Labour Legislation
and Local Government
Bargaining Council
Collective Agreements.
· Excellent report
writing and presentation skills.
· High level computer
Literacy: Of!ce Applications.
· Excellent negotiating,
communication skills &
Con”ict management
skills.

EXPERIENCE

· 5-8 years
relevant
experience.

  1. MANAGER: LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE
    SALARY SCALE: R589 432.00 – R765 132.00 (TASK GRADE 16)

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • responsible for regulatory
    compliance
  • to provide advice on legal,
    compliance and regulatory risks
  • ensuring the implementation of
    systems and controls to mitigate
    those risks
  • to ensure effective management
    of compliance and regulatory
    risks and to formulate a
    compliance check list to be used
  • manage and implementthe
    litigation management strategy
    of the municipality and all its
    pillars
  • to continuously monitor
    compliance with statutory obligations and advise management
    accordingly
  • ensure that the municipality is
    aware of new legislation and new
    court decisions
  • to ensure that all PAIA and PAJA
    requests are responded to within
    the prescribed period
  • to execute generic planning
    functions
  • to ensure a climate conducive
    to promoting productivity,
    performance by directing and
    controlling outcomes associated
    with utilization, productivity and
    performance of personnel
  • to manage budget administration, oversee the management of
    all legal and compliance related
    matters of the municipality.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree
    in law
  • Admission as an
    attorney or advocate
    of the High Court of
    South Africa will be a
    recommendation
  • Level of decision
    making technical
    aspects of the job
    and the liaison with
    high level external
    individuals and
    groups

    SALARY SCALE: – R257 018.00 – R333 608.00 (TASK GRADE 10)

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Directing drivers and managing
    traf!c,
  • Reducing road congestion,
  • Removing vehicles from the road,
  • Managing and responding to
    road and traf!c incidents
  • Enforcing traf!c laws
  • Giving evidence in Court,
  • Preparing report
  • Conducting vehicle inspections,
  • Assisting pedestrians
  • Administering !rst aid,
  • Providing education

REQUIREMENTS

  • Advance Driving
    skills,
  • Matric/ Grade 12
  • Basic Traf!c Of!cer
    Diploma,
  • Registered with
    DORT (Department of
    Roads and Transport)
    as a Traf!c Of!cer,
  • Unendorsed Code B
    driving License,
  • Knowledge of Road
    Traf!c Legislation
    and other relevant
    legislation essential,
  • No criminal record,
  • Good interpersonal
    skills and writing
    skills.

EXPERIENCE

At least three
(3) years’
experience
as a traf!c
of!cer.

  • Experience as
    an Examiner
    of Vehicles will
    be an added
    advantage
