Artisan Mechanic
Requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate
- Artisan Mechanical Trade Certificate (Diesel)
- 1 to 2 years experience required
- Valid Code A and EC drivers licences and valid
PDP - Communication skills in at least 2 (two) of the 3
(three) official languages of the Western Cape
Main Functions:
- Mechanical functions: Checks and tests vehicles
pre- and post-service maintenance/repairs to
ensure the extent of repair or nature of fault is
determined to enable efficient execution of
repair maintenance sequence and functionality
checked prior to delivery to client. - Fault Finding/Repairs: Repairs mechanical
breakdowns to ensure faults are detected and
repaired and functionality restored with minimal
disruption to service. - Do maintenance on small plant to ensure that
machinery is in good working condition.
Special Conditions/Skills:
- Knowledge of repairing and maintaining
motorcycles. - Good welding and metal working skills.
- Specialised knowledge of fleet management
and replacement principles and practises and
information systems. - Manage and Supervisory skills.
- Human relations skills.

Building Inspector (Enforcement & Compliance)
Requirements:
- A Relevant National Diploma Qualification as
stipulated in the National Building Regulations in
one of the following building disciplines:
(a) Civil Engineering; (b) Structural Engineering
(c) Architecture (d) Building Management;
(e) Building Science; (f) Building Surveying; or
(g) Quantity surveying. - Peace officer certification or eligible to register as

Key Performance Areas:
- Manage and investigate complaints regarding noncompliance of buildings and or/ structures in terms

non-compliance of structures for the Municipal
Court. Liaise with the Prosecutor regarding noncompliance and enforcement. - Ensures compliance with legislation with regards to
Plan examinations and building inspections in
terms of building plan applications when
necessary. - Manage and administer the three (3) yearly Tender
for the appointment of Built Environment
professionals in conjunction with Supply Chain
Management. - Assessment, administer, issuing of, and ensuring
