Nature Reserve Supervisor

  1. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
  • Based at Tirammogo this role undertakes effective, efficient, and responsible management of staff, property, projects and guest relations to maximize the facility of excellence. Improve and maintain properties to provide high quality nature reserve facility, accommodation, grounds and dams to suit legislative and guest requirements.
  1. WORK OF ROLE
  • Ensure that all routing schedules are adhered to and follow up through inspections
  • Inspect and ensure that all property service utilities are fully operational
  • Conduct routine inspections on all equipment to ensure that they are in working order and operating at required efficiency levels
  • Assist with compliance with all statutory regulations relating to occupational health and laws
  • Assist with property maintenance and repairs
  • Ensure that maintenance tasks and inspections are carried out and routine repairs completed when required
  • Assist with perimeter repairs and fence maintenance
  • Assist with dam maintenance, land and implement bush control maintenance
  • Assist with accommodation units and outbuildings maintenance
  • Assist with fire control layout and safety perimeters to control fire hazards
  • Adhere to emergency procedures such as escape routes, fire extinguisher points, emergency contact numbers, etc.
  • Assist with inspections of game and stock counts and assessments to monitor health levels and population
  1. QUALIFICATIONS
  • Grade 12
  • Suitable qualification in nature reserve and agriculture required Advantageous: A qualification in hospitality management.
  1. EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum 5 – 7 years in a similar environment.

  • Advantageous: having worked in a similar hospitality environment
  1. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • In depth knowledge of relevant laws and standards
  • In depth knowledge of the practical aspects of managing a farm and trout fishing establishment

  1. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
  • The Nature Reserve and Game Lodge Attendant will play a vital role in the maintenance and management of the game lodge, ensuring a top-notch facility for both wildlife and visitors. Their responsibilities encompass the overall welfare of wildlife, including population management, game capture, and species introductions. Additionally, they will oversee controlled burns, manage invasive vegetation, monitor high-profile animal populations, and maintain fences and infrastructure. The position will also involve delivering environmental education and executing essential administrative tasks. Ultimately, this role is dedicated to the protection and preservation of both the animals and the land.

Surveyor (SF)

1PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • Obtain appropriate internal and external information in order to ensure accurate surveying, certifications and representation on plan of all surface features and mining related events, in compliance to the relevant Acts, Regulations and contractual agreements to enable informed management decision making.
  1. WORK OF ROLE
  • Adhere to permissions regarding rights, leases, servitudes, SRP’s etc.
  • Assist with Land Management and Surface Subsidence Monitoring Programs
  • Ensure no sterilization of reserves due to new surface structures
  • Ensuring effective calculation and issuing of certificates for payment in accordance with contractual agreements (opencast, waste rock dumps and excavations/fillings)
  • Ensuring full integration of Surface Plans with the system used. Gathering survey data and represented electronically
  • Identify and report on unauthorized usage of surface areas
  • Perform exploration surveys
  • Perform volumetric surveys
  • Piezometers level surveys (tailings dams water level) –freeboard surveys
  • Responsible for all surface, construction, project and opencast survey activities
  • Responsible for ensuring the maintenance of equipment
  • Survey all exploration boreholes, rehabilitation work, surface accidents and the representation of it on plans
  • Updating of the Surface Responsibility Plan
  1. QUALIFICATIONS
  • Grade 12
  • Advanced Chamber of Mines Survey and Valuation Certificate or National Diploma Survey or BTech Mineral Resources Management
  • Drone License
  1. EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 5 years in underground mine surveying experience
  • Must obtain MS (SAIMM or IMSSA) membership (or equivalent) after appointment
  • Knowledge of EMP, land asset management, surface rights and surface protection – Advantageous
  1. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Computer literacy for role
  • Knowledge of MRM systems
  • Check Survey experience
