Senior Professional Officer

Requirements

  • A BTech/ B degree or Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering
  • Registration as Pr Eng / Pr Tech Eng or eligibility to register
    within 3 years of appointment
  • Minimum Five (5) years’ relevant post qualification experience
  • MS Project and Excel efficiency required, and SAP experience
    is an advantage.
  • A Code B (08) driver’s license

Key Performance Areas

  • Coordinating programmes and projects within the
    Transport Infrastructure Implementation Department,
    by providing financial, administrative, logistic and project
    management support
  • Monitoring expenditure trends on all projects and ensuring
    adequate budget provision for the various stages of different
    projects
  • Performing contract management functions in line with the
    relevant City guidelines and directives
  • Managing the reporting functions

Senior Professional Officer Contracts Administration

Requirements

  • A relevant B Degree in Law/ Commerce/ or a related field
  • Minimum five (5) years’ relevant experience required in
    contracts administration, contracts drafting and/or
    contracts management.
  • Full range experience of professional and theoretical legal
    and contractual knowledge.
  • Good Working knowledge of Corporate Governance
  • Computer literacy skills (MS Office and SAP)
  • Valid driver’s license.

Key Performance Areas

  • Manage the processes associated with the development and
    design of public transportation contracts.
  • Developing and implementing a contracts management
    system in alignment with the City’s Contracts Management
    Framework and Contracts Management Guide.
  • Drafting, consolidating and managing all records, reports,
    correspondences and contract data regarding contracts,
    under management.
  • Oversee the performance management processes and
    consolidation of performance records of public transport
    services providers.
  • Attending to all contract enquiries and guide contract processes.
  • Collecting, collating, analysing and evaluating contracts data
    arising out of the public transportation Contracts.
  • Conduct research and present evidence-based decisions to
    a wide range of audience, including council committees and
    project management team

Superintendent

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent technical qualification
  • Five (5) years’ appropriate experience in the road’s construction
    and maintenance field
  • Staff supervisory experience
  • A valid Code B driver’s license

Key Performance Areas

  • Directs and controls the key performance indicators and
    outcomes of personnel within the section.
  • Implements procedures, systems and controls to regulate
    specific work sequences and general practices/processes as
    dictated to in environmental health legislation and by-laws
  • Co-ordinates, monitors and controls road and storm-water repair
    and construction work.
  • Performs specific tasks associated with the operation and
    allocation of heavy and/or specialised vehicles
  • Completes internal transactional documentation (e.g. tally
    sheets, log sheet, progress report, etc.) and related forms
    (vehicle checklist)

GIS Analyst

Requirements

  • A relevant technical tertiary qualification in GIS
  • Computer literacy: MS Office
  • 2 years’ relevant experience

Key Performance Areas

  • Provide technical assistance to users by maintaining GIS & Survey
    servers and systems, and SharePoint, ensuring accessibility and
    functionality.
  • Provide assistance to the Senior GIS Analyst in tasks such as spatial
    data capture, manipulation, modelling, analysis, map production,
    and data management, under appropriate supervision. Maintain
    familiarity with core GIS functions and workflows to effectively
    support senior team members.
  • Enhance departmental functions by researching, evaluating, and
    implementing new GIS & Survey solutions while driving change
    management to improve data quality and spatial integration.
  • Ensure optimal performance of SharePoint sites, and Surveys & GIS
    systems and servers through regular monitoring, troubleshooting, and
    maintenance.
  • Assist stakeholders by providing device support, technical advice,
    and system access management while promoting standardized GIS
    data practices.
  • Maintain, update, and ensure the accuracy of spatial data while
    making it accessible to stakeholders.
  • Support the department through administrative duties, reporting,
    and communication.

SALARY
Basic:R415 782 p.a

WM 73/25 Principal Technician

Requirements

  • National Diploma in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering and
    registration as a Pr. Tech Eng
  • 8 years or more relevant post qualification experience in fleet
    management, fleet/plant maintenance
  • Advanced Computer literacy (MS Office applications and SAP PM)
  • A valid Code EB driver’s licence

Key Performance Areas

  • Develop, implement, and maintain information databases
    (vehicle routing, driver identification, vehicle and driver
    licence renewals, fuel consumption, proactive maintenance etc.)
  • Prepare analytical and productivity reports referring to
    statistical data and qualitative information.
  • Investigate deviations from predetermined fleet operational
    standards and submit reports to management.
  • Evaluate and update operational manuals and procedure
    to accommodate technological advancements and business
    improvements.
  • Conduct market research in alignment with operational needs
    and for the customisation of operating systems.
  • Visit satellite workshops and vendors to conduct inspections
    to establish that repairs and maintenance procedures are
    in accordance with vehicle design, specifications, and
    statutory regulations.
  • Monitor compliance with administrative and reporting
    requirements and provide direction to vendors and
    workshop on resolution of referred problems associated with
    inaccurate data or information.
  • Assist with the performance management of service level
    agreements, contracts and tenders.
