CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
The General Computer Lab Coordinator is responsible for the effective management, maintenance, and support of student and staff computer laboratories across the University.
The position ensures that computer labs remain functional, secure, and aligned with institutional ICT standards to support teaching, learning, and research.

This includes overseeing daily operations, coordinating lab assistants, implementing software and hardware updates, maintaining asset registers, and ensuring a high-quality user experience.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Provides ICT support to students
To manage the Student Assistants

To oversee daily operations of all general computer labs, ensuring accessibility, uptime, and technical readiness.

To coordinate lab usage schedules, access control, and security in collaboration with Protection Services and Faculty representatives.

To Log CRM cases for Hardware and software issues

To assist with student pins and passwords.

To manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, operating systems, and application software in Computer Lab

To ensure timely resolution of technical faults logged through the ICT Service Desk.

To maintain compliance with cybersecurity and software licensing requirements.

To provide frontline ICT support to students and academic staff within the labs.

To Train and supervise student lab assistants to ensure effective service delivery and adherence to ICT policies.

To Facilitate user awareness on acceptable use, digital literacy, and responsible computing.

To Maintain an accurate inventory of lab equipment and software.

To Ensure adherence to ICT asset management policies, including equipment lifecycle replacement and audit compliance.

To Ensure safe working conditions in labs in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards.

To Implement energy-efficient and sustainable ICT practices where possible.

To Prepare operational and incident reports for ICT management.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills, with experience in interviewing, supervision, and team coordination.

CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

The Director: Supply Chain Management (SCM) will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the Supply Chain Management system, and for the oversight and management of the overall Supply Chain Management operations, including demand, acquisition, logistics, disposal, performance and risk management.

The role is also responsible for the review of the supply chain’s performance and for making recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Providing strategic leadership for all supply chain related activities at the Nelson Mandela University
Provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders relating to Supply Chain Management in compliance with Supply Chain Management Policy.
Manage, control and oversee all functions reporting into Supply Chain Management (Procurement, Stores, Goods Receiving, Logistics and Contract Management)
Manage and control the procurement of all commodities for Nelson Mandela University in terms of the Supply Chain Management Policy
Monitor of strategic spend

The purpose of this post is to lend assistance in the building services workshops regarding maintenance and preventative maintenance work and services to all NMU buildings in accordance with the Health and Safety Act and NMU policies and procedures.

CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
The primary purpose of this position is to provide professional, high-level executive and administrative support to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Research, Innovation and Internationalisation (DVC:RII), through dedicated personal assistance, effective office management, and proactive coordination of projects and institutional initiatives aligned with the RII portfolio. The role combines traditional PA responsibilities with the coordination of University-wide programmes, meetings, and events that advance the strategic objectives of Research, Innovation and Internationalisation.

The incumbent will ensure that the Office of the DVC:RII operates with confidentiality, efficiency, and excellence, providing a seamless interface between the DVC and internal and external stakeholders, including staff, students, alumni, government departments, research funders, and international partners. The role requires initiative, sound judgment, and strong organisational ability, working collaboratively with other members of the Executive Support Team to ensure that all functions of the DVC:RII Office contribute effectively to the achievement of the University’s Vision 2030 and its global engagement agenda.

  1. Executive and Office Administration

Organise and manage all activities within the Office of the DVC:RII to ensure it functions as an efficient hub for the flow of information, documentation, and communication across the University.

Minimum Qualifications
