Job Advert Summary
The CSI Manager is responsible for implementing the CSI strategy, identifying and managing CSI strategic and operational risks as well as ensuring an effective and efficient delivery model of CSI projects, procedures and programs that are aligned to the Company’s business objectives. The role will involve end to end management of CSI Function.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Completed Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Advantageous: NQF Level 8 qualification in Social Sciences, Administration or related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years in CSI Management
- Proven track-record in CSI

Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Impact
- Strategy development: Design and implement CSI strategies and programs that align with the company’s mission, goals and the ESG.
- Develop organisational plans to ensure the CSI programs are translated into deliverable and implementable plans.
- Outline CSI project plans, programs, timelines and budget according to overall project objectives and business as well asstakeholder priorities.
- Conduct research on viable and sustainable CSI programs and present the business case, data and evidence for successful implementation and execution of these projects.
- Demonstrate research capacity by providing quality data and information to substantiate spending on programs relative to similar CSI projects by analysing the impact of programs relative to market trends in the similar industry.
- Conduct cost-benefit and analysis on CSI initiatives to measure effectiveness of programme interventions and implement the programme to drive and maintain continuous improvement on the impact made.
- Develop and present reports and metrics to the Exco, Committees, Senior Management, key stakeholders.
Operations
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, NGOs, and other stakeholders to promote collaborative initiatives.
- Program Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of CSI projects.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare reports on the impact of CSI initiatives and present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
- Compliance and Governance: Work/collaborate with compliance to ensure all CSI activities are compliant with relevant laws and regulations, as well as company policies.
- Community Needs Assessment: Collaborate with external stakeholders Conduct assessments to identify community needs and tailor programs accordingly.
- Collaborate with Marketing team to developcommunication strategies to promote CSI efforts internally and externally, enhancing the company’s reputation.
Financial
- Create and monitor CSI budgets.
- Budget Management: Manage the CSI budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.
- Timely and accurate payment of service providers.
- Manage financial risks to avoid fruitless and wasteful expenditure.
People
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor staff involved in CSI initiatives, fostering a culture of social responsibility within the organization.
- Ensure that team receive and leverage appropriate training.
- Manage risk by being compliant with South African labour related laws and recommendations.
- Encourage teamwork and collaboration in the Division.
- Build a succession pipeline within the team and for the organization.
Customer
- Partner with business stakeholders to design and monitor internal service-level agreements (SLAs).
Ad-hoc tasks
- From time-to-time work collaboratively with others on other adhoc projects.
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks.
