PACKAGING INVENTORY CLERK

The key purpose of this role is the Management of all Raw Material (RM) inventory within the logistics supply chain ensuring product quality standards met & in compliance to all inventory governance processes & controls. All physical movement of inventory is correctly reflected in SAP, inventory differences investigated, resolved & reported.
Key roles and responsibilities:
- RM Inventory quality fundamentals standards are adhered to as per VPO requirements
- RM Inventory accurately blocked in SAP with physical blocking mechanism in place as per VPO standards for quality related & obsolescence stock
- Ensure compliance to the freshness & rotation policy as per VPO standards
- Inventory count are recorded accurately with quantities per storage location & Best Before Dates (BBD) x SKU & bin cards clearly displayed as per VPO standards
- Inventory concession policy applied & approved as per VPO product age standards
- RM Inventory accurately blocked in SAP with physical blocking mechanism in place as per VPO standards for quality related & obsolescence stock
- All RM salvages are re-packed as per VPO standards
- All obsolescence stock are decanted as per standard policy & procedure
- All Received stock are GRN as per standard policy & procedure
- Independent inventory counts conducted on all RM Inventory reconciled to SAP inventory . Inventory count difference identified, investigated, resolved & reported. Un-resolved inventory count differences escalated to RM Controller with commentary & action plans
- All physical movements of RM Inventory are transacted in SAP accurately. Packaging receipts validated by line counters, write-off’s are verified against signed-off documentation & gate sheets
- Breakages, Obsolescence & salvages stock are signed-off & processed in SAP accurately.
- All daily controls, open shipments are reviewed & resolved.
- All claims are processed timeously with signed-off backup documentation & SAB reimbursed
- Supply Chain Overheads Budget vs Actual costs are monitored with gaps & action plans reports
- Managing and daily planning of workload for team
- Daily Documentation Control
- Ensuring good Governance
- Weekly and monthly stock count compliance
- Monitor and control raw materials and stocks – handling and storage
- Apply good waste management practices
- Apply Good Housekeeping and 5S principles
- Risk assessments and issuing of PTW
- HR & Administrative duties
- Liaison with internal and external customers
- Support team goals and VPO principles
- Daily Stock Reconciliation
- Weekly PRP compliance
- All Documentation signed-off by relevant persons, filed & securely stored as per Inventory Control Policy – Inventory stock packs, shipment packs, gate register, etc.
- Security cameras in key points on site & random verification conducted
- 3 Point independent checks are conducted on all shipments for departure & arrival – Random checks conducted to ensure compliance
Profile:
- National Diploma in Finance, Commercial, Supply Chain, Logistics or relevant studies
- 2-3 years’ experience in a Stock Control environment
- Knowledge of Stock Control Processes
- MS Office & SAP proficiency
- Licensed FLT driver
- Attention to details
- Problem solving ability
- Good verbal ability and communication skills
- A team player with well-developed organisational and planning skills
- Capable of operating in a pressurised cross- functional and demanding environment

The Key Purpose of this role is to manage shift to efficiently execute both T1 & T2 load plans to satisfy internal and external Customer service levels.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Inventory Counts
- Physically perform and lead the morning inventory count process
- Identify the root cause of inventory count variances and put action plans in place through problem solving tools to improve the Inventory Accuracy KPI
- Reduce Supply Chain Overheads through the utilization of problem solving tools
- Create and manage warehouse management tools to ensure FEFO.
- Track and trend Inventory Accuracy
- Ensure movement of materials reflects in the SAP system at all times
Layout Implementation
- Ensure adherence to the layout in line of certain warehouse activities e.g. Empties zone; Refusal zone; Order Picking zone; Repack zone; Finished Goods zone
Improve Quality Standards
- Manage, track and trend 1. warehouse cleanliness, 2. pest control schedule adherence, 3. cross contamination from non-food grade chemicals, 4. daily temperature control and 5. product exposure
- Ensure 75% Compliance to the Global Warehouse GOP
- Implement and adhere to a Location-Based Inventory System to identify stored product
- Ensure adherence to blocking standards on non conforming inventory
- Product quality induction programme conducted
- Track, trend and manage repacking operation to conform to quality standards and to improve repacking productivity
Picking Standards
- Adhere to a standardised picking process and ensure compliance through management routines to ensure a safe and productive process
- Track, trend and manage picking accuracy and productivity through management tools
Productivity & Capacity Managed
- Ensure 75% Compliance to the Warehouse Labour Productivity GOP to improve the KPI
- Allocate and assign labour activities utilizing the SKAP tool
Warehouse Management
- Implement, track, trend and improve 5S results
- Support the design of the management cycle e.g. Business Descriptions, SLA’s, Process Maps, Indicators and ensure understanding by all warehouse employees
- Develop and continuously validate SOP’s through management routines and tools and ensure understanding by all warehouse employees (LnA)
- Team rooms managed and updated through routine meetings to solve problems and drive performance
- Develop and maintain SCL routines and track adherence thereof
- Use problem solving tools e.g. 5 WHY, Abnormality Reports, SIC, OPLs, RACI’s, OWD’s, PDCA’s, etc. to develop action plans to show improvement on PI’s and KPI’s
- Cascade KPI’s and PI’s to individual warehouse employee level, calenderise the KPI/PI achievements and monitor individual target
Safe Warehouse Practices
- Ensure & maintain a safe warehouse operation driving awareness and compliance to all the relevant safety blocks
- Loading and Unloading activities
- Track and measure the PI of the loading/unloading bay allocation tool with action plans to improve productivity
- Track, trend and manage related KPI’s/PI’s e.g. TCT, baytime utilization, Hl/man Hour

Scheduling Clerk

The Key Purpose of this role is to ensure Material & Empties Availability to enable the optimal plan for the supply of stock for grid requirements.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
The key accountabilities for this role include but are not restricted to:
- Where there is no Production Scheduler and Scheduling Analyst at a Brewery the Scheduling Clerk would take on the Outputs and Responsibilities of the Production
- Scheduler and Analyst in addition to the below
- Raise Orders in On Time
- Contact Supplier to ensure supplier confirmation for orders sent
- Delivery Schedule Adherence and follow up with Suppliers on ETA and Commitments
- Monitor raw materials supply to production through correspondence with Warehouse Leads and Suppliers and factor into production plans
- Interpret and Implement the Production Plan to ensure Raw Material Availability and Empties Availability.
- PTP/GRIR follow up
- Manage open orders with Suppliers to ensure only current orders reflect in On Time
- Engage MRP Material Owner on Gaps on Stock on Hand at Supplier and at Brewery vs Production Schedule
- Work with MRP team on Master-data updates required in On Time
- Implementation and Adoption of On Time and PPMS
- Engage Supplier to understand stock on hand to ensure IP is met between Brewery Stock and Supplier stock
- NST Time Allocation Analysis and Reporting
Minimum Requirements:
- A Diploma or equivalent tertiary qualification – Highly Advantageous
- A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, or within a similar function
- Basic financial knowledge
- PC Literacy –basic Excel and database management skills
- An in depth understanding of the SAB value chain process (Production and Distribution
- Value Chains)
- Knowledge of the Supply Network Planning process, and manufacturing execution systems will be advantageous
- Knowledge of Production and Distribution value chains
