Sedibeng TVET College hereby invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following permanent positions. The following posts will be filled according to the CET Act No. 16 of 2006 (as amended).
CENTRE: CENTRAL OFFICE
POST/POSITION: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: PARTNERSHIP AND LINKAGES (RE-ADVERT)
REF: SEDCOL 01 / 2025
SALARY: Min R 582 444.00 – Max R 686 091.00 per annum (excluding benefits)
SALARY LEVEL: SL10
NAME OF THE COMPONENT: REGISTRATION SERVICES
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Grade 12 / NCVL4 plus a three (3) year National Diploma/ Degree in Project
Management / Business Management / Marketing or equivalent qualification. 3-5 years’ relevant working
experience in Project Management / Business Management / Marketing environment of which three (3) years should be at Supervisory level on Salary Level 7 or 8. Knowledge and understanding of building meaningful partnerships. Knowledge and understanding of administrative reporting processes and procedures, report writing skills, problem solving, financial management knowledge, ability to network, must be innovative, business planning skills. Computer Literacy and a valid Driver’s License is a prerequisite.
DUTIES: Partnership management through building database, identifying project opportunities, developing project proposals and forming partnerships with industries. Partnerships Management, Business opportunities scanning, Local and Provincial government relations and Research Management. Oversee and maintain student work placement and Work Integrated Learning (WIL). Ensure that the TVET college student placement and WIL policy is in place and adhered to. Analyse the job market. Ensure that an effective system is in place to assist learners to find job placement. Identify potential partners and networks to benefit and support existing graduates. Negotiate and sign service-level agreements and or contracts with clients. Negotiate the employment opportunities with the employers and promote ex-graduate for vacancies. Develop the project and budget. Be responsible for doing funding application. Ensure that they attend the strategic meeting with SETA to negotiate graduate’s placement and facilitate the signatory of Memorandum of Understandings (MoU’s). Management of all Human, Financial and
other resources of the unit’. Engage stakeholders. Source funding through application of discretionary and mandatory funds
POST/POSITION: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
REF: SEDCOL 01 / 2026
SALARY: Min R468 459.00 – Max R551 823.00 per annum (excluding benefits)
POST LEVEL: SL 9
NAME OF THE COMPONENT: FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SERVICES
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Grade 12 / NCVL4 plus a three (3) year National Diploma/ Degree) in Financial Management/Financial Accounting or equivalent qualification. 3-5 years’ relevant working experience in financial management and accounting of which three (3) years should be at Supervisory level on Salary Level 7 or 8. Knowledge of the Continuing Education and Training (CET) Act. Knowledge and understanding of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA). Knowledge and understanding of Treasury Regulations. Knowledge of the Skills Development Act, Public Service Regulations, Public Service Act, and the Labour Relations Act. Knowledge and experience of usage of Financial Management Systems. Experience in the Post School Education and Training (PSET) environment will be an added advantage. Good administration skills. Knowledge of the Generally Recognized Accounting Practice (GRAP) accounting framework will be an added advantage. Good computer skills (including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) with Excel skills. A valid driver’s license.
DUTIES: Monitor and review procedures for the receipt and safekeeping of all funds and ensure compliance with the relevant prescripts. Ensure receipts and the safekeeping of all funds comply with relevant policies and are properly recorded. Ensure that bank reconciliations are performed timeously and are correct. Verify the validity and allocation of payments received via electronic transfers. Ensure the safeguarding of source documents. Maintain proper and accurate records of debts owed to the college, supported by a standard operating procedure for debt collection. Manage income and expenditure and the accurate allocation of monies received. Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information in the financial statements. Perform the reconciliation of transactions (interface) on the payroll (PERSAL) with the accounting system (BAS). Perform the quality assurance and verification of transactions and source documents on the Financial Management System. Ensure that expenditure is in line with the budget and item provisioning. Ensure that the banking details on the Financial Management System are accurate. Perform creditor reconciliation to ensure that service providers are paid in a timely and correct manner. Assist with the compilation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Administer payroll control and salary administration. Compilation of the General Ledgers and Trial Balance. Assist with the facilitation of audits, clearing of all audit queries, and compilation of management reports on audit findings.
Management and the implementation of audit action plans. Development and maintenance of strategies, policies, and procedures to strengthen financial controls. Completion of monthly statutory returns, including SARS compliance.
