Job Advert Summary
Rand Water is currently looking for the Retirement Benefit Counsellor that will be responsible for achieving long term financial well-being of members through retirement benefit counselling; Deliver services fully aligned with the Pension Fund Act, Default Regulations, FSCA Conduct Standard 19 of 2021 (RF) and prevailing industry best practise. Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) and providing education and guidance to members of the Fund in respect of investment options, membership classes, costs and tax implications.

Minimum Requirements
National Senior Certificate- with maths;
Post graduate qualification relating to employee benefits or legislation governing retirement funds;
Certificate/diploma in Retirement Fund Administration or equivalent;
Certificate FSCA Trustee Toolkit Phase 1&2;
PFA/FSCA required legislative knowledge,
Minimum 4 years working experience in the Retirement Industry,
MS office,
Valid driver’s license,
Proficient in English, Zulu and Sotho.
Primary Duties
Perform the fiduciary function of a registered Administrator, in terms of the Pension Fund Act and the Rules of the Fund.
Ensure Service Level Agreements with service providers are adhered to.
Induction for new entrants,
Inform members of the EB web system and provide assistance,
Roadshows for investment,
Education and information sessions,
Member education,
Management reports.
Knowledge
Employee Benefits Administration
Management and Board of Trustee reports
Membership engagement – benefit counselling, investment roadshows etc.
Default regulations
Strong knowledge of DC funds, FAIS and related regulations
Knowledge of PFA, interpretation of Fund Rules, Income tax Act, Divorce Act and Long-term Insurance Act
Knowledge of retail annuity products
Skills
Effective EB Admin of a 13B license holder
Report writing, effective communication and education of members
Relationship-building with members
Keeping abreast with industry regulations
Punctual, attention to detail, keeping appointments, reporting
Continuous learning, training and up skilling
Explain annuities to members as well as different investment and membership classes.

Compliant with the PFA & FSCA and the Rules of the Fund
Professional, ethical/fair and assertive, self-motivated, punctual

Proficient in verbalising, writing and reading in English and another language
