Introduction

ASSMANG Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled, motivated and dedicated individuals who would like to be part of this exciting mine and who would like to make use of this unique opportunity to grow and develop within the company to apply for the position at our Black Rock Mine Operations, situated 80km North-West of Kuruman in the Northern Cape. To ensure optimum availability and reliability of Instrumentation equipment and systems to ensure effective and continuously improved operations throughout BRMO.

Job description

•    Obtain, check and refine information.
•    Manage the efficient and effective utilisation of resources.
•    Optimise the core operational internal processes and internal supply chain and resolve operational conflicts.
•    Provide input into functional planning.
•    Plan, direct and assess Quality Management within sub-function and recommend remedial actions where necessary to ensure adherence to TQM principles.
•    Complete daily inspection checklists for tools, equipment and work areas.
•    Report problems and make recommendations to Supervisors.
•    Maintain, install, programming and do diagnostics and repair instrumentation equipment and power supply units and lines per planned maintenance and break down work orders. 
•    Ensure equipment and tools are cleaned after use and stored in Storeroom according to labelling and BRMO standards.  
•    Perform instructions as per work orders and job cards.
•    Ensure operational plan is implemented.
•    Plan, implement, control and monitor approved changes to area of responsibility to respond to changes in the industry, legislation, and other related matters including transformation and optimisation. 
•    Promote and assure adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures. Identify unsafe and hazardous situations.
•    Identify recurring problems and derive creative solutions involving team members.
•    Implement compliance requirements.
•    Calibrate, repair and maintain control gear, instrumentation and equipment. Perform root cause analysis and deal with SLAs.
•    Implement and effectively manage the approved budget (operational, capex and labour) for the sub-function.
•    Contribute to annual functional budget planning by providing input into operational, capex and labour budgets for sub-function.
•    Maintain active, informative relations with all team members, peers, customers and suppliers. Take remedial actions.

Minimum requirements

•    Grade 12.
•    National Diploma N6 or S4 or T3.
•    Trade Certificate: Mechanician.
•    Valid Drivers License Code B/EB.
•    Dover B Symbol.

•    5 Years Technician On Maintenance Operations Experience In A Process Plant Automated Environment.

Introduction

Ensure compliance with mine health and safety regulations. Ensure compliance with mine policies, procedures and standards. Plan and organise resources, people and equipment to ensure the execution of the drilling schedule.

Job description

•    Microsoft Office 
•    Ensure that Sampling request are done on time and are done accurately to promote 100% Sampling coverage 
•    Ensure sampling sheets are interpreted correctly. 
•    Ensure grade control in accordance to mine planning.
•    Plan, coordinate and control the drilling and blasting process.
•     Manage the replenishment and distribution of drilling consumables. 
•    Coordinate and control collection and transport of samples

•    Inspect legal compliance and implement remedial actions to address. Record non-conformances and actions required to remedy. 
•    Receive, implement changes in operating standards, SOP, CP’s and monitor implementation. Ensure that this is communicated and acknowledged by all team members. 
•    Exercise and entrench basic principles of safety and basic principles of mining. 
•    Promote and assure adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures. Identify unsafe and hazardous situations. 
•    Diagnose incidents and accidents by completing root cause analyses and take corrective action. Conduct risk assessments. Stop work in unsafe areas.
•     Know and exercise the basic principles of safety and mining. Comply with 
•    Safety, Health and Environmental standards. Identify and report unsafe and hazardous situations in work area. Participate in safety meetings. Take care of your own safety and the safety of fellow employees. 
•    Identify constraints and deviations from the plan and issue new instructions if necessary. 
•    Identify own priorities including PTO’s (Plan Task Observations) and communicate constraints to relevant stakeholders. 
•    Proceed with routine area inspections with scheduled Miner and monitor status of daily operations and adherence to legal requirements. 
•    Conduct Plan Task Observations (PTO) relevant to roof and face prep, drill and blast as well as load and haul operations. 
•    Identify deviations from standards (health and safety), production parameters and priority work to be done. Inspect services operations (ventilations, water, air and drain columns).

•    Certificate: Grade 12 (Required)

•    Certificate: Shift Supervisor Mining (Required)
•    Certificate: Supervisory Development (Advantageous)
•    Valid driver’s license code B / EB (Required)

•    5 Years’ Supervisor experience
•    3 Years’ Drilling and Blasting operations
•    3 Years’ Load and Haul operations (Miner)
•    3 Years’ Construction operations (Miner)
