A Production Supervisor plays a key role in managing and overseeing the production processes. They are responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe production of products, compliance with regulations, and the supervision of production staff.

Boiler and Utilities Operator

Job Description

The Boiler and Utilities Operator safely operates and monitors the steam boiler and supporting utility systems that enable reliable sauce manufacturing operations. The role is responsible for day-to-day boiler operation, routine utilities monitoring, bulk offloading coordination, first-line fault reporting, and accurate operating records to support safe, efficient and uninterrupted plant performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Operate, start up, shut down and monitor the steam boiler and associated auxiliaries in line with plant SOPs and legal requirements.
  2. Monitor steam pressure, feedwater levels, burner performance, fuel consumption, water quality and blowdown condition.
  3. Inspect and manage the hotwell / feedwater system, water softener, dosing systems and other boiler house support equipment.
  4. Complete routine boiler checks, record operating readings and immediately escalate unsafe or abnormal conditions.
  5. Monitor the chiller, cooling tower and chilled water circulation to ensure stable process cooling.
  6. Monitor the air compressor system, including receiver, dryer, filters and pressure stability, and report any deviation or loss of performance.
  7. Carry out routine utility inspections for temperature, pressure, leaks, vibration, alarms and general equipment condition.
  8. Support start-ups, shutdowns and coordination of utility availability for production and maintenance activities.
  9. Manage the safe offloading of diesel, oil and vinegar into the designated storage systems.
  10. Verify correct product, receiving tank capacity, hose connections, valve positions and transfer route before offloading begins.
  11. Prevent spills, cross-contamination, overfilling and stock losses through disciplined checks and monitoring during transfer.
  12. Maintain accurate offloading records and communicate stock concerns or abnormal usage to the relevant teams.
  13. Follow all plant safety, food safety, GMP, OH&S and environmental procedures.
  14. Comply with lock-out / tag-out, permit-to-work and site emergency requirements where applicable.
  15. Maintain clean, safe and audit-ready boiler, compressor, chiller and offloading areas.
  16. Support statutory inspections, maintenance planning, incident investigations and corrective actions.


Requirements:

  1. Grade 12 / Matric.
  2. Qualified or certified Boiler Operator with relevant boiler operating competence for an industrial plant environment.
  3. Minimum 3-5 years’ experience operating industrial boilers and supporting utilities in a food, beverage or process manufacturing environment.
  4. Practical experience with diesel-fired boilers, water treatment / softener systems, feedwater control, blowdown management and bulk liquid offloading.
  5. Working knowledge of utility systems such as chillers, cooling towers, air compressors and associated distribution systems.
  6. Ability to work shifts, overtime, weekends and call-outs when required.

Code 10 Driver

Job Description

A Code 10 Driver’s main function is to deliver goods safely from one destination to another, within the required time frame.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Comply with the times and procedures, regulations, and correct use of resources.
  2. Responsible for the vehicle – safe handling/operating of the vehicle.
  3. Day to day inspection of the vehicle and reporting of all faults and serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
  4. Completing vehicle inspection sheet and refuelling of vehicles.
  5. Check truck list and follow route to destination.
  6. Check the truck and load before going out on the road.
  7. Safe truck operation, use of seat belts, no speeding, no use of electronic equipment, no eating, and no smoking.
  8. Ensure adherence to the Road Traffic Act and ensure the safety of other road users.
  9. Abide by the regulations as set out in Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  10. Abide by the company policies and the regulations of the road.
  11. Ensuring vehicles are loaded correctly as well as checking documentation against the loads.
  12. Ensure the correct quantities and loads are delivered.
  13. Ensure all proof of deliveries are signed on delivery as well.
  14. Loading and off-loading of products including pallets.
  15. Return of returned products, empty containers (lugs) and undelivered invoices.
  16. Comply with 5S standards for a clean, safe and orderly workplace.
  17. Report to work with all applicable PPE.
  18. Punctual on every shift (able to report to work timeously even when called at early parts of the morning).
  19. Communicate daily activities on the provided system.
  20. Complete the required documents accurately.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 5 years proven work experience within the industry.
  2. Valid Code 10 drivers license and valid PDP.

Production Manager

Job Description

The production manager leads and manages the end-to-end production operation of a centralised sauce manufacturing plant, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant manufacture of products across raw material handling, cooking, cooling, storage, filling, packaging and dispatch support. The role is responsible for delivering production targets while maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, cost control and team performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Production Planning and Execution
  2. Manage daily, weekly and monthly production plans in line with demand, plant capacity and stock requirements.
  3. Ensure production activities are executed efficiently across raw material preparation, bulk handling, sauce cooking, cooling, storage, filling and packaging.
  4. Monitor process performance to achieve output, yield, labour efficiency and service level targets.
  5. Ensure production records, batch documents and traceability requirements are completed accurately and on time.
  6. Support commissioning, start-up, validation and production trials for new equipment and processes.
  7. Oversee plant process performance to ensure stable and efficient operation.
  8. Maintain practical understanding of utilities and production support systems, including boiler, softener plant, air compressor, chiller, cooling tower, diesel systems, bulk ingredient handling, packaging, rotary filling machines and end of lines packaging systems.
  9. Identify process bottlenecks and implement improvements to enhance throughput, reduce waste and improve overall efficiency.
  10. Work with maintenance and technical teams to ensure equipment and utilities are available to support production requirements.
  11. Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, FSSC22000, HACCP, GMP and OH&S requirements.
  12. Drive adherence to recipes, process controls, sanitation standards and product specifications.
  13. Work closely with quality teams to investigate non-conformances, implement corrective actions and maintain audit readiness.

  2. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a food, beverage, sauce or liquid processing manufacturing environment.
  3. Proven experience in batch processing, cooking, cooling, storage, filling and packaging operations.
  4. Working knowledge of plant utilities including boiler, softener plant, air compressor, chiller, cooling tower and diesel systems.
  5. Experience in food safety, quality systems, FSSC2200, HACCP, GMP and OH&S compliance.
  6. Proven team leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

Fleet Controller

Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  3. Manage Fuel, Daily Mileages, and reconcile Fuel slips against Engen EDC reports
  4. Document Toll Slips and escalate Fuel Consumption figures as needed
  5. Reconcile Target Kilometers vs. actual kilometers, promptly escalating anomalies
  6. Compile and dispatch Daily Logistics Report according to SOP
  7. Ensure Fleet Attendants complete check sheets for each vehicle
  8. Verify Truck Cameras’ functionality, promptly escalate nonconformances
  9. Ensure C-Track functions correctly with accurate parameters
  10. Manage Fleet R&M Status Report and compile Monthly Mileage verification
  11. Maintain adequate stock of Truck Wash Chemicals
  12. Supervise Tyre Check Sheet completion, Hino Clutch Adjustment and Vehicle Inspections
  13. Promptly escalate vehicle faults, oversee maintenance work, and manage vouchers for long-distance trips. Additionally, monitor Fuel & Toll Card Register, conduct weekly audits, and ensure timely communication of dispatch delays while monitoring offloading times at stores

Maintenance Manager

Job Description

The maintenance manager leads and manages the maintenance, reliability and utility performance of a centralised sauce manufacturing plant, ensuring that all equipment, infrastructure and services are safe, compliant and available to support efficient production. The role is responsible for preventive maintenance, breakdown response, engineering improvement, contractor management and long-term asset care.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Maintenance Strategy and Execution
  2. Develop and implement maintenance plans and systems to ensure high equipment reliability and plant uptime.
  3. Manage preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance across processing equipment, utility systems, filling lines, packaging equipment and associated plant infrastructure.
  4. Ensure timely response to breakdowns and effective root cause analysis to prevent repeat failures.
  5. Establish shutdown plans, service schedules, inspection routines and maintenance standards for critical assets.
  6. Utilities and Site Services
  7. Take ownership of utilities and plant services, including boiler, softener plant, air compressor, chiller, cooling tower, diesel systems, pumps, valves, fillers, cappers, end of line packaging systems, piping networks and back up systems.
  8. Ensure utility systems are maintained and operated safely and efficiently to support production requirements.
  9. Monitor equipment condition, service performance and energy usage to improve reliability and reduce costs.
  10. Support plant commissioning, installation, equipment handovers and start-up activities.
  11. Work closely with operations teams to improve mechanical reliability, changeover performance and operating efficiency.
  12. Manage engineering contractors, service providers and technical support partners as required.
  13. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OH&S requirements, safe work procedures, permit systems and lockout requirements.
  14. Support food safety and quality requirements by maintaining hygienic design integrity and safe maintenance practices.
  15. Maintain statutory inspections, calibration coordination, maintenance records and asset documentation.
  16. Ensure engineering readiness for audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
  17. Lead, coach and develop maintenance staff and technical support resources.
  18. Implement maintenance planning systems, work order control, spare parts management and engineering reporting routines.
  19. Manage maintenance costs, contractor spend and asset lifecycle planning.

Requirements:

  3. Strong practical knowledge of boilers, water treatment systems, compressors, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, valves, piping, rotary bottle filling machines, packaging equipment, HVAC and temperature controlled facilities such as cold rooms and freezers.
  4. Experience in preventive maintenance systems, breakdown analysis and reliability improvement.
  5. Knowledge of food safety, FSSC22000, GMP, HACCP and OH&S requirements in a manufacturing environment.
