A vacancy exists for a Group Reporting Accountant at Life Healthcare Head Office in Dunkeld. The successful candidate will report to the Statutory Reporting Manager and be responsible for submitting accurate and timeous monthly reports of the financial results to all relevant stakeholders that comply with IFRS as well as adding significant financial expertise in analysing and reporting management results to the Group.Critical Outputs
- Prepare monthly SA Group consolidation
- Responsible for group structure changes
- Identify, analyse monthly results and trail balances
- Prepare general ledger reconciliations
- Prepare monthly Group performance financial analysis and reporting
- Ensure Group compliance with IFRS
- Evaluation and application of new IFRS standards when applicable
- Preparation of technical accounting papers to support positions taken
- Technical/IFRS centre of excellence for the group
- Prepare and review annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and the JSE listing requirements
- Preparation of concise reports/papers for submission to the audit committee
- Liaising with external auditors
- Provide accurate information for purposes of external reporting e.g. Investor presentations
- Perform regular cash flow forecasts
- Ensure standard account usage throughout the Group to ensure standard policies and account usage throughout the group
- Preparation of the SA Group statutory budget from operational budgets
- Ensure compliance to SARB reporting requirements.
- Preparation of quarterly Reserve Bank and Stats SA surveys
- Assist in business due diligence investigations
- Review purchase price allocations and prepare valuations for fixed assets
- Ad-hoc projects.
Requirements
- CA (SA) with 3 years post article experience.
- Good technical IFRS knowledge
- Relevant commercial experience an advantage
- Experience in private healthcare or similar industry advantageous.
- SAP knowledge and experience advantageous.
- Onestream knowledge and experience advantageous.
- Advanced excel experience.
- Deadline driven, proactive, ability to work in highly pressurized environment, effective communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to influence and build relationships.

Systems Controller

A vacancy exists for a Systems Controller in the Admin Department Unit reporting to the Finance and Administration Manager. The successful candidate will ensure the delivery of quality service to all system users.Critical Outputs
- Provide 1st line support for the hospital system users at all times,
- Maintain and manage all IT Systems and IT/BI Equipment on site and ensure all IT equipment and cabling complies with LHC standards,
- Monitoring of main network and cabinet to ensure WAN/LAN network is operational 24/7,
- Ensure the security of IT Systems by ensuring all LHC computer users are compliant with IT/BI policies and procedures, all users have designated User ID’s and management of access during engagements, resignations and temporary assignments,
- Effectively implement the roll out of all new Patient Services/ BI Projects and maintain staff competence to interact with the system,
- Establish and manage an internal call logging process for users in the hospital,
- Effectively troubleshoot system problems before logging an event with Contact Centre,
- Effectively co-ordinate and supervise the work of 3rd party companies e.g. CEOS, Di Data, Telkom etc (software and hardware implementation),
- Follow up on logged events with LHC/BI on events logged and provide timeous feedback to users on the progress of their logged events,
- Liaise with IM and provide input in the Annual Hospital Budget,
- Obtains approvals timeously for all IT/BI expenses as per approval processes and places orders for Hardware on Group system,
- Ensure sanctioning of practitioners, with the required approval from the hospital manager, has been loaded into the Impilo system as per protocol,
- Manage and service mailbox housekeeping and back up,
- Ensure training of all staff on the hospital management system and ascertain that computer users understand the applications they are utlilsing, e.g Impilo, Onkey, Kronos etc,
- Champion and promote the IMeds off program and the iShift workflow program.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- A Diploma in Information and Technology is essential.
- 2 Years Information Technology experience is essential.
- Strong communication skills and coordinating abilities.
- Strong influencing skills and the ability to work under pressure.

- Proven experience and excellent computer skills are essential.
- Knowledge of IMeds, Impilo, SAP, Kronos and Vision would be an advantage.

- A proven track record of sound operational experience within both government and private sector EMS. Ability to provide a portfolio of evidence of previous operational experience as an ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT provider
- CPD compliant and have completed the current new CPG update, BLSHCP, ACLS and PALS is essential
- BLSHCP Instructors, ACLS EP, PALS EP advantageous
- ITLS, ATLS (auditor), AHCP and other post graduate qualifications advantageous
- Computer literacy
- PDP Code 08 license with advanced/high performance driving

- Test performance of in-unit appliances, such as toasters, microwaves, stoves, ovens, water hydroboils and coffee machines.
- Provide nursing staff with advice and guidance on maintaining their wards and common areas.
- Respond to requests from doctor’s rooms, auxiliary services areas and soft services maintenance requests as reported.
- Be fully capable of maintaining and repairing fixtures such as air conditioning, carpentry, drywall, small power, flooring, kitchen, bath, roofing, windows, and doors.
- Maintain and arrange signage, wall pictures, flowerpots, decorative fixtures, television mounting and road marking.
- Complete and return all maintenance job cards to Maintenance Office
- Be able to perform after hour standby duties during call outs/emergencies.
Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12
- At least N2 or Higher Technical Trade Courses with minimum of 3 years in engineering maintenance or facilities maintenance
- Minimum N3 in Electrical or Mechanical would be advantageous.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Practical experience in hospital environment or similar environment is essential.
