EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

  • 2 – 3 years practical trade specific experience in a heavy industrial/mining/ plant environment/ TMM.
  • Advantageous: 1 – 2 year practical Earthmoving equipment experience

DUTIES (including but not limited to):

  • To ensure maintenance and breakdowns are done on the production fleet. To ensure the vehicles under his / her responsibility comply with the mine’s code of practice applicable to TMM for operational usage.

  • Ensure workshop and working environment is always clean. Assist in ensuring the workshop’s operational functioning. 
  • Schedule and organise workload, spares, tools and resources according to maintenance / breakdown schedule processes and procedures. Obtain permits and safe declarations to work and related permits for work to be performed by complying with the required procedures related to work permits. Execute work against issued work order in a timeous and accurate manner. Complete work orders and return to supervisor for   sign-off. Conduct daily inspections, whether scheduled or ad hoc, and record feedback on work order. Conduct planning of job shown on work order to ensure job is executed in shortest space of time.
  • Conduct mini risk assessment and lock-out procedure in own area of work and within span of control.
  • Perform asset care activities as required to maintenance / breakdown schedule including accurate and timeous feedback and documentation to all relevant stakeholders. Operate and maintain specified mobile equipment in line with requirements of Code of Practice, policies and procedures. Adhere to manufacturer’s (OEM’s) maintenance service requirements.
  • Ensure all equipment and tools are cleaned after use and stored in Storeroom according to labelling. Ensure that personal toolbox is in safe working condition. All equipment is inspected continuously to repair identified defects in time to prevent breakdowns, damaged equipment, injuries, and production delays and to identify future defects. Plan, order, collect and utilise parts to minimize production delays, due to equipment and machinery failure. Equipment is maintained pro-actively and serviced on a scheduled basis to ensure equipment availability and reliability. Breakdowns are attended to immediately to restore availability and reported to the Chargehand/Foreman and Control Room. Report and communicate unrepairable equipment to the supervisor.
  • Ensure effective teamwork and good communication by establishing interaction between members.

DUTIES (including but not limited to):

  • Support the engineering planning department through the acquisition and accurate capturing of maintenance data onto the planned maintenance system.
  • Perform effective data capturing functions through accuracy. Read source documents / information and enter data in specified data fields on information system using electronic equipment such as computers. Verify accuracy of source information/data and obtain correct/outstanding information where necessary, e.g. apply check and balances. Carries out any other lawful and reasonable instruction as instructed by line manager or any person authorized to do so and within scope ability, skill and knowledge. Assure data protection by maintaining filing system and saving of files as required

  • 1 year practical experience as the Rock Drill Operator.
  • Advantageous: 6 months practical underground mining experience.

DUTIES (including but not limited to):

  • Drill anchor holes required for anchoring of belt structures and equipment.
  • Drill anchor holes in foot wall to secure belt structures/tips, etc., according to schedule. Anchoring of winches.
  • Drilling, installation, tensioning and grouting of anchor bolts.

EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

  • 1 year practical trade-related experience in a heavy industrial/ mining/ plant environment.

DUTIES (including but not limited to):

  • To assist in ensuring optimum availability and reliability of equipment in support of effective and continuously improved plant / mining operations. Assist to execute maintenance on mining electrical reticulation including modifications, installations and repairs.
  • Ensure own work area is clean at all times. Ensure all equipment and tools are cleaned after use and stored in Storeroom. Ensure that personal toolbox/ tool bag is in safe working condition.
  • Conduct mini risk assessment in own area of work and within span of control.
  • Work independently and/or under the supervision of the artisan. Complete basic discipline specific work and functions in the field under the supervision of the Artisan. Ensure tasks are completed according to set requirements and standards. Conduct inspections whether regular or ad-hoc and report back on work orders.
  • Report all defects and status of tools and equipment to Artisan/ Chargehand. All tools and equipment are stored safely after inspection. Tools utilized by the Aide are kept clean, maintained and functional. Tools, material and equipment are utilized according to SOP’s.
  • Assist artisans in the maintenance of primary and secondary equipment when instructed (perform partly independent to the level of competence). All production equipment is maintained reactively and on a scheduled basis to ensure equipment availability and reliability. Breakdowns are attended to immediately to restore availability and reported to the Artisan/ Chargehand. Repaired equipment is tested for functionality before installation.
  • Assist artisan on removing replacing and/or repairing and installation of panel, fluorescent tubes, and machinery during breakdowns, HT cables, belt drives, straining wires, power turning. Build cable joints; Connect and disconnect cables under supervision; Perform lockout procedure when necessary. Assist artisan on HT Maintenance; Transport cables; compressor including faultfinding (assist cabling). Assist Artisan with substation equipment maintenance. Assist with minor maintenance and installations in buildings of appliances. Responsible for cable installation, jointing and connection of electrical equipment to distribution boards underground / surface. Wire and fault find motor control centers and distribution boards under the supervision of a qualified electrician. Communicate effectively with line Supervisors / Foremen and related plant / mine personnel.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 10 / Standard 8 Certificate.
  • Competent A & B Certificate.
  • Blasting Assistant Certificate.
  • Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence.
  • Advantageous: Supervisory Certificate.

EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

  • 3 years practical TMM Operator experience in an underground mining environment.

DUTIES (including but not limited to):

  • Assist the -Logistics Miner with all the logistics operations. Supervise UV Operators, and ensure discipline and instructions given by Logistics Miner, are adhered to.
  • Continuously observe/monitor component performance against standards to identify any sub performance/ non-conformance or deviations, and report to Supervisor. Perform lock-out procedure as and when required.
  • Coordinate housekeeping of the work environment when required/instructed.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings as required. Ensure that subordinates’ tasks are carried out according to Standards, Procedures, Rules and Regulations.
  • Report breakdowns/damages timeously to the Control Room Operator. Report any changes to conditions or machinery during shifts. Report on completed work during and at end of the shift.
  • Coordinate logistics and ensure safe handling of equipment and material to various strikes.
  • Ensure timeous provision of fuel, lubricants, tyres and equipment (i.e. drilling machines, air legs and jumpers) to the underground satellite stations, workshops and stores.
  • Adhere to, and oversee adherence of subordinates to, Key Control Procedure.
  • Adhere to ad hoc requests for transportation of goods.
