The National Arts Council of South Africa is looking to attract dynamic, passionate,
innovative and creative self-starters with a solid understanding of the Creative
Industries Sector for the President’s Employment Stimulus Programme Project (PESP).

REQUIREMENTS (full job specifications are available upon request)

  1. 2x Arts Development Officers
    Minimum requirements
  • More than 6 years relevant experience in the arts with local, continental, and
    global exposure
  • Manage grant application processes and awards
  • Process funding management as per the project plan
  • Provide effective risk assessment and management for grants
  • Implement and monitor financial control measures
  • Demonstrate problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of the economic, educational and social value of
    the arts
  • Monitor and evaluate projects funded
  • Demonstrated and extensive skills, knowledge and experience relevant to both
    the formal and informal sectors
  • Extensive project management skills, communication skills and good financial
    acumen
  • Sound knowledge of the arts, culture and heritage sector in South Africa
  • Ability to work long and late hours for the duration of the project
    Minimum education requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant qualification in Arts or Public Administration, Arts
    Management degree or other relevant tertiary qualification (NQF Level 7),
  • More than 6 years relevant experience in the arts, with local, continental, and
    global exposure,
  • Demonstrate knowledge of developments and trends in the disciplines of
    Craft/Music/Visual Arts/Literature/Multidiscipline/Dance and Theatre.

  1. 1x Junior Arts Development Officer
    Minimum requirements
  • 2-3 years’ working experience as Project Coordinator or similar role
  • Sound knowledge of the arts, culture and creative sector in South Africa
  • Extensive experience in reviewing projects
  • Manage deliverables of all team members against agreed upon timelines
  • Provide regular reports as and when required
  • Good MS Excel skills
  • GMS system experience will be an advantage
  • Sit as a representative of the NAC on all technical committee meetings
  • Prepare and provide documentation to internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Diploma or degree in a relevant field required
  • Ability to work long and late hours for the duration of the project
    Minimum education requirement
  • National Diploma or Degree in Office Administration/Project Management

  1. 1x Finance Officer
    Minimum requirements
  • 3 years’ working experience as a Finance Officer
  • Debtors and creditors management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Advanced Microsoft excel will be an added advantage
  • Financial and Office administration experience
  • Ability to work long and late hours for the duration of the project
  • Attention to detail.
    Minimum education requirement
  • BCom or 3 years’ National Diploma: Accounting or relevant field

    Accounts to trial balance including balance sheet Essential

  1. 2x Call Centre and Office Administrators
    Minimum requirements
  • Call centre/Applicant service experience
  • Experience in dealing with the public
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent command of the English language (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Ability to work long and late hours for the duration of the project
    Minimum education requirement
  • Senior National Certificate or equivalent
