Introduction
ASSMANG Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled, motivated and dedicated individuals who would like to be part of this exciting mine and who would like to make use of this unique opportunity to grow and develop within the company to apply for the position at our Black Rock Mine Operations, situated 80km North-West of Kuruman in the Northern Cape. To provide operational business system services to ensure a secure, stable and safe database environment such as database integrity and user profile security.
Job description
• Resolve problems as they are encountered to ensure achievement against plan.
• Support and participate in sub-functional change management to drive transformation and optimisation. Drawing from own experience or vocational knowledge, identify and recommend initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improved productivity and reduce operating costs within scope.
• Solve queries on identified major database queries and provide feedback to users. Assist in report writing tools for internal customers. Support all users on various databases. Manage outsourced database administration services.
• Obtain, check and refine information on daily basis. Collate and submit reports. Run data exception reports and take corrective action. Conduct document control spot-checks.
• Design, develop and enhance in-house databases. Maintain and develop interfaces between databases. Install new released service packs and patches for database software and critical updates. Maintain all enterprise databases. Create export queries and conduct data exports. Ensure to store historical data for financial plans.
• Identify recurring problems and derive creative solutions involving team members or using own vocational knowledge and experience.
• Implement compliance requirements. Communicate compliance changes.
• Provide input into sub-functional planning. Plan team activities.
• Ensure operational plan is implemented.
• Implement and maintain disaster recovery procedure for database applications. Ensure to have backup maintenance plans are in place, ensure to have sufficient hardware infrastructure in place to ensure business systems are in working order and to prevent minimal business system interruptions.
• Ensure reporting of accurate and reliable data to all relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure to supply 1st line support to all business users i.e. JDE, Oracle, Sharepoint, Isometrix, Starlims, ODI, Firefly, QMED, Passport 360, Oracle Fusion, APPSHARE, All system integrations via ODI.
Minimum requirements
• Grade 12.
• Diploma: Management Information Technology.
• Bachelor of Commerce Information Technology (Advantageous).
• Microsoft Certified Database Administrator MCDBA (Advantageous).
• Valid Code B Driver’s License.
• 1 Year Supervisory Experience.
• 5 Years Microsoft SQL Database Administration Experience.

To plan, schedule and monitor the activities of the Enterprise Asset Management System to achieve operational targets in a cost-effective manner.
Minimum requirements
• Grade 12 (Required)
• Trade Test Certificate with Minimum of N3 (Required)
• Certificate Maintenance Management (Required)
• Valid Code B/EB Driver’s License (Required)
• 3 Years artisan experience in a mining or heavy industry
• 2 Years Work planning and control in a mining maintenance environment
• 1 Year Master Data Management (Recommended)
• 1 Year Supervisory experience (Recommended)
