Packaging Maintenance Planner

The Key Purpose of this role is to manage the relevant Maintenance Systems, spares management, generation of routine and planned maintenance schedules, provide support to maintenance teams in the execution of maintenance and ensuring relevant Permit-to-Work are in place.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Facilitate and lead the planned maintenance pre-meeting with a focus on required work, problems to be addressed and resource requirements

Plan all required work on the planned maintenance schedule

Ad hoc tasks should be included and prioritized and relevant works requests generated

Determine resource requirements to complete work and assign tasks to specific resources

Interaction with departmental heads to obtain resources necessary for task completion

Partake in planned maintenance period in support of the maintenance team, assisting with problem solving, work prioritization and resource re-allocation

Reschedule incomplete work to the next planned maintenance period and capture all required information from the planned maintenance period on the maintenance systems

Facilitate and lead the maintenance postmortems and document any problems encountered, opportunities identified and lessons learned

Where problems have occurred during routine or planned maintenance activities, apply structured problem-solving approach to resolve

Where required calls in additional resources to assist in problems solving or escalate to engineer for direction

Assist fellow team members to resolve problems on request

Take part, as a functional expert, in FFA’s on request

Ensure maintenance and cleaning day and annual shutdown programs are completed

Ensure all required asset care work is carried out and complies with asset care standards

Ensure spares needed to support asset care program are available on time and within costs

Identify asset care training needs in the Machine Specialist’s as well as in the shift teams and make recommendations

Analyse SAP maintenance system to identify recurring problems and make recommendations to enhance the asset care schedules

Co-ordinates resource allocation of process artisans and machine specialist on maintenance and cleaning day and annual shutdown

Participate as a subject matter expert in asset care problem solving sessions

Key Attributes and Competencies:

Understanding of Maintenance Processes and Practices

In depth knowledge of Packaging plant equipment and processes

Assertive leadership, good people management

Strong diagnostic ability

Minimum Requirements:

Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or equivalent

3 to 5 years production Engineering

Solid SAP experience

The Key Purpose of this role is to safely operate one or more discrete processes in the Brewing plant (e.g. Wort Cooling, Yeast
Management, Filtration Q&C), the execution of maintenance tasks, quality control checks and analyses, and the coaching of fellow team
members to produce a consistent product of the right quality at optimum cost.

The Key Purpose of this role is the responsibility for ensuring sustained reliability, integrity and stability of the Automation and Control
Infrastructure whilst proactively enhancing and optimising these systems thereby improving Quality and/or efficiency of processes.

Ensuring the integrity and reliability of production systems software and hardware from PLC devices to ERP system

The key purpose of this role is to ensure that quality analysis and procedures are compliant to the company standards and specifications on packaging production lines and teams. The key purpose of this role is to carry out sampling, sample preparation and analysis including Sensory analysis of packaging raw materials, in -process samples of packaging product from packaging production Lines.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Perform routine and non-routine analytical tests (e.g. Chemical, Physical chemistry and Sensory where applicable)

Operate analytical instruments (e.g. Spectrophotometers, GC, HPLC, Alcolyser and pH meters)

Follow approved Global Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and test methods.

Ensure accuracy, precision, and repeatability of results

Quality Control and Assurance:

Maintain detailed and organized records, ensuring traceability and regulatory compliance.

Assist with report writing and presentations as needed.

Analyze and interpret data from tests,

Monitor and maintain an adequate inventory of reagents, supplies, and consumables.

Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile laboratory environment including waste management of biohazardous substances etc.

Maintenance of Equipment:

Ensure and conduct autonomous operations as defined for the instrumentation

Ensure equipment is operated according to SOP’s

Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of laboratory equipment.

Develop work instruction to empower autonomous maintenance of equipment, to ensure its uptime

Identify defective equipment, and report these to the Team Leader, Instrumentation Technician and Lab Specialist

Communication:

Issues, problems and improvement opportunities

Make use of relevant communication media to stay informed and inform others of issues

Utilizing VPO digital tools to improve understanding of process and standards

Required to escalate out-of-control processes to all Stakeholders

Job Purpose

The Key Purpose of this role is to address the acquisition of technical skills and experience for graduates as well as familiarize them with the company culture and principles in an 18-month structured programme. The rigor of the programme should ensure that an individual that has completed the programme can be allocated an area of responsibility immediately.
