Manager: Strategy & Business Transformation

Job Description

Purpose of Role:To support the Chief of Staff in the execution of Cell C’s strategic and business transformation agenda, serving as a trusted partner in the production of executive-grade output, the coordination of company-wide priorities and governance forums, and the operational coherence of the Strategy & Business Transformation function.

Executive Enablement and Advisory

  • Support the Chief of Staff in the production and quality assurance of executive-grade materials across the function, including Board and Exco submissions, CEO briefings, and strategic proposals
  • Develop a strong working understanding of what executive-appropriate content looks like and apply that judgment consistently across the function’s deliverables
  • Define and embed executive communication standards, influencing how strategic narratives, insights, and recommendations are framed across the function
  • Drive continuous improvement of functional deliverables, enhancing the quality, consistency, and impact of outputs across the organisation
  • Contribute actively to maintaining the function’s output standards across all team-wide work

Cross-Functional Coordination and Business Management

  • Support the Chief of Staff in the delivery of CEO-mandated Business Transformation initiatives and company-wide priorities driven from within the function
  • Coordinate cross-functional executive forums on behalf of the Chief of Staff, engaging directly with senior leaders and their teams across the business to gather, interrogate, and consolidate inputs
  • Ensure all cross-functional submissions are complete, coherent, and meet the required standard before they reach the Chief of Staff
  • Manage governance calendars and associated coordination rhythms, including timelines, templates, escalation protocols, and stakeholder communication
  • Identify and escalate gaps or risks in submissions proactively, working across functions to support timely resolution
  • Build and sustain effective working relationships across the organisation to support consistent and high-quality execution on behalf of the function
  • Ensure strategic coherence and quality of all cross-functional submissions, setting and enforcing standards that enable effective executive decision-making
  • Build and leverage strategic stakeholder networks at senior leadership level, enabling alignment, collaboration, and consistent delivery of transformation outcomes

Capability & Knowledge Management

  • Maintain the function’s institutional knowledge base, ensuring that frameworks, tools, and reference materials are current, accessible, and fit for purpose
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of templates and tools that raise the quality baseline of output across the team
  • Identify process and capability gaps within the function and bring these to the attention of the Chief of Staff with recommended solutions

Perform any other related duties as requested by Management

  • Provide support across functions by undertaking additional tasks and responsibilities, within reasonable scope, as delegated by management to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department

Qualifications

  • Honours degree or equivalent in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field (required)
  • Postgraduate qualification (MBA, MPhil, or equivalent) is advantageous

Experience

  • Minimum 7–8 years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years in consulting or corporate strategy environments
  • Demonstrable experience contributing to executive-level materials in a complex, senior-facing environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and deliver reliably under pressure

Postpaid Manager: Gauteng North/NW

Job Description

Purpose of the Job:

As the first line of contact between trade partners, distributors, and Cell C. You manage a geographic area on all Cell C distribution points to drive operationalisation of the postpaid business strategy. Identifying risks and opportunities within the region and implementing the correct strategy to achieve growth. You achieve growth and meet the overall regional objectives through:

  • Implementation of the CBU S&D and EBU Strategies across the region segmented by Main Places and Sub Main Places
  • Implement marketing activities using traditional, segment, and trade marketing strategies to achieve sales targets
  • Manage and maintain relationship with all trade partners in various distribution channels as first point of call/escalation, hence driving the acquisition, retention, and achievement of customer experience targets
  • Grow Cell C customer base and market share in all channels
  • Ensure adherence of minimum store standards and operating practices as stipulated by Cell C Head Office, including but not limited to branding, stock levels, point-of-sale merchandising, staff training, implementation of new products and services, and assisting stores with the escalation of admin/customer queries
  • Develop and implement strategies to deliver on Cell C’s strategic objectives (Sales & Marketing)

Main Responsibilities

Postpaid Performance Management

  • Reporting and analysis of revenue, base management, market share and channel performance
  • Benchmarking regional cost and performance efficiencies and recommend, monitor and manage cost reduction initiatives.
  • Business case modelling – develop models to realise strategy.
  • Target analysis and comparisons with HQ and seasonal trend alignment on daily, weekly and monthly run rate predictions
  • Detailed regional tracking and reporting on all targets, and channel product and services performance
  • Regional and cluster review analysis and customer base analysis and maintenance by channel, customer intelligence – revenue analysis by region, cluster & town (Main and Sub Main Places) – provide insight.
  • Identify market opportunities, market sizing of opportunities aimed at increasing market share and revenue
  • Channel/segment performance analysis, channel deep dives and channel packs for FRM
  • Monitoring progress against strategy, performing detailed analyses of information key for decision making
  • Collaborate with product managers in delivering on a competitive strategy for the Postpaid product portfolio to support all segments within the Region
  • Work closely with Business Performance Management in understanding market trends and product performance
  • Support the implementation of agreed KPIs and/or SLAs against product launches, revenue and cost (development)
  • Implement the approved Go To Market action plan that specifies how the department will reach target customers and achieve the desired competitive advantage
  • Assist in designing a Go To Market business canvas, clearly defining the engagement with the internal business stakeholders, the value proposition and customer segments on a regional scale, cycles and offerings with predicted revenue
  • Develop and maintain sound and healthy processes and working relationships with all other relevant stakeholders to ensure that the process of delivering on the postpaid product objectives is optimized
  • Drive to deliver product performance improvement by implementing collaborative initiatives with relevant internal stakeholders and partners
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Pricing team for input on pricing and tariffs, as well as sales/service-based commissions for the product
  • Explore opportunities to review and refresh the product portfolio on a regular basis
  • Keep abreast of the competitors’ products and activities in the market and provide relevant insights to stakeholders

Cost and Budget Management

  • Prepare, control and administer the yearly budget for Postpaid within the region
  • Develop and implement relevant policies and practices to assist in achieving savings targets
  • Manage and report on cost tracking and variation reports, implementing corrective action where required
  • Approve relevant expenditure for the department in line with delegation of authority
  • Inform the Regional Manager timeously of potential over-spend
  • Make recommendations for budget-affecting change requests

Staff Management and Development

  • Lead and motivate staff to effectively deliver objectives, ensuring development opportunities, appraisal and management systems are embedded and relevant HR procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Provide an advisory, support and mentorship function to enable staff to grow within their career
  • Maintain a low staff turnover rate
  • Initiate the appropriate labour relations actions required within the department
  • Establish, evaluate and guide the department’s Employee Performance Management programme
  • Set Key Performance Indicators, targets and goals as per the department’s strategy and business objectives
  • Conduct regular assessment of team performance against defined key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective action where required
  • Recruit employees; assign and direct work; oversee staff development; identify training needs and maintain staff competence
  • Uphold HR policies and procedures at all times

Experience

Purpose of the Job

To serve as the enterprise custodian of organisational change, transformation governance and strategic enablement, responsible for designing, institutionalising and governing enterprise-wide change frameworks that enable the successful delivery, adoption and sustainability of strategic transformation initiatives.

The role provides strategic, operational and governance support to the Chief People Officer through the coordination of strategic initiatives, enterprise projects, organisational reporting and stakeholder engagement activities, ensuring alignment between the People strategy and broader organisational objectives. The incumbent drives execution excellence across the Human Resources function and broader business by enabling effective implementation of strategic priorities, while ensuring visibility and management of key organisational risks, initiatives, interdependencies and transformation outcomes.

Operating at a principal specialist level with organisation-wide influence, the role shapes enterprise change architecture across multiple concurrent strategic programmes and serves as a trusted advisor to the Chief People Officer, Executive Committee and Programme Sponsors. The incumbent provides authoritative guidance on organisational transformation, change governance, capability maturity and people risk mitigation, ensuring alignment between business strategy, transformation delivery and organisational effectiveness.The role carries accountability for enterprise change standards, methodology governance, transformation risk management, strategic coordination and the continuous enhancement of organisational change capability and execution maturity across the enterprise.

Main Responsibilities
Enterprise Change Architecture and Governance

  • Define and institutionalise the enterprise change management framework, standards, policies and toolkits
  • Develop consolidated enterprise change roadmaps across all strategic initiatives
  • Conduct enterprise-wide impact diagnostics and organisational readiness assessments
  • Establish structured governance mechanisms to manage:

  • Lead integrated change planning across multiple concurrent strategic programmes
  • Partner with Programme Managers and Project Sponsors to embed structured transition frameworks

  • Anticipate complex challenges, risks and opportunities, ensuring alignment and integration with broader functional and organisational strategy
  • Develop and propose annual business plans for designated areas of accountability, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives and business priorities
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of strategic plans across the various divisions within the organisation
  • Provide input into organisational design, departmental structures and operating models aligned to strategic and operational requirements

Project Management

  • Support the management and oversight of strategic and operational projects, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines, scope and budget parameters
  • Coordinate with internal departments, project teams and stakeholders to facilitate effective project execution and cross-functional alignment
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and dependencies, resolve issues and provide regular updates and strategic insights to the Chief People Officer
  • Track implementation milestones, deliverables and outcomes to ensure effective execution and governance discipline

Functional Support

  • Manage confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of professionalism, discretion and integrity
  • Ensure strict adherence to organisational policies, governance requirements and operational procedures.
  • Ensure the Office of the Chief People Officer remains informed of key organisational initiatives, risks and strategic developments underway across the business.
  • Provide recommendations and insights to the Chief of Staff and Chief People Officer to proactively identify, manage and mitigate strategic and operational risk areas

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial / Organisational Psychology, Business Management or equivalent
  • Postgraduate qualification preferred
  • Accredited in recognised change methodologies (Prosci, ADKAR, Kotter, ACMP, PMP, Lean Six Sigma)

Experience

  • 9 -10 years’ experience and knowledge in application of Change Management Models and leading implementation of strategic organisational change and transition projects
  • Demonstrated experience advising Executive-level stakeholders
  • Proven track record managing multiple complex transformation programmes concurrently
  • Experience institutionalising governance frameworks and enterprise standards
  • Strong systems thinking and organisational diagnostic capability
