PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Responsible for the safe operation and metallurgical
efficiency of the crusher, flotation, milling and thickening

REPORTS TO
Foreman: Shift

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 10
  • Metallurgical skills programmes or NQF Level 2
    qualification
  • Matric with mathematics literacy advantageous

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 1 Year Experience as a Plant Attendant

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to all safety standards and procedure;
  • Training of attendants on SOPs and standards;
  • Ensure you know all safety standards and
    procedures;
  • Identify and report shortcomings on safety and
    procedures;
  • Conduct planned task observations on Attendants;
  • Prioritization and delegation of workload;
  • Conduct hazard identification reporting &
    correction;
  • Conduct pre-task risk assessment;
  • Ensure tools & equipment are in safe and good
    condition;
  • React on and prioritise safety instructions/job cards;
  • General housekeeping in area of responsibility
  • Identify possible areas to save costs;
  • Report defective machinery;
  • Maintain acceptable running conditions for
    equipment;
  • Maintain and store equipment spares in good order;
  • Comply to standard operating practices &
    Procedures;
  • Complete daily planned task, objectives and
    reasonable requests;
  • Identify and report arears/equipment requiring
    maintenance;
  • Effective usage of standby equipment;
  • Assist artisans during breakdowns;
  • Operate crushing, milling, float, concentrator,
    laboratory and tailings section;
  • Be familiar with all Laboratory hourly float level
    checks;
  • Take hourly float samples for X-met.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
The successful candidate will be appointed on
the condition of being certified medically fit as
per the Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996.
Applicants must be prepared to undergo certain
job-related assessments, if required as part of
the selection process. Credit, criminal and
reference checks may be done by the Mine if
deemed necessary
