Purpose of the Internship:
The Road Accident Fund is committed to youth skills development, providing graduates with an opportunity to gain work-based experience. Applications are invited for the Claims Investigation Internship from unemployed graduates between the age of 18 and 25. The Internship program will run for a period of twelve (18) months. Verification process will be undertaken to verify whether you have previous work anywhere within the Republic of South Africa.
Work based exposure may include the following:
- Tracing insured drivers and witnesses and obtaining statements.
- Drafting accident scene sketch plans.
- Conducting inspections in loco.
- Participating in the assessment process of investigation.
- Identifying and escalating fraud and corruption cases to FID
- Handling PAIA-related matters and verifying attorney documentation
- Gathering evidence and recording statements correctly
- Preparing clear and concise investigation reports
- Basic exposure to Loss of Support analysis and compiling a full investigation report.
Qualifications and other Requirements
- Certified copy of Grade 12 / Matric certificate
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma @ NQF Level 7 related qualif ication to discipline(Policing/Forensic/Criminal Justice and any law related qualification.
- Valid Driver’s License.

- Bill Review Functions: Supporting or execusopm of Bill Review functions which includes: Summarising Medico-legal documents, drafting Treatment plans drafting Preauthorisation assessments, Supplier claim processes, Assessment of invoices and Communication of outcomes with other team members.
- Medical Management Consultant’s functions : Supporting or perfomimng Injury Assesments – including AMA Guides Assessments, Drafring of Injury Assessment Reports, Drafting of undertakings and Basket of care (BOC).
- Case Management Funtions: Supportive role in Field Case Management functions and processes, Hospital Case Management and Fleet management process.
