RCL FOODS is seeking a Miller to join our Groceries Division. The role will be based in Randfontein and report to the Unit Manager.
The purpose of the role is to Manage the efficient and cost-effective operation of all milling units, ensuring compliance with product quality specifications. Achieve all daily production targets and key performance measurements through effective process control, operational excellence, and proactive equipment maintenance to maximize reliability.

Duties & Responsibilities
Carry out break releases on Sorghum Mills weekly, in line with instructions.
Prevent stock build-up on roll feed plates.
Check all scrapers and roll brushes every shift and replace them where necessary.
Keep roll hopper exhausts fully operational on every shift. Complete all sifter maintenance according to required schedules and standards.
Replace any burst covers during the shift.
Maintain all inlet and outlet sleeves on sifters and purifiers in good condition.
Keep turbo sieve screens on the Germ system intact and clean, and clean the interior of the machines regularly.
Maintain purifier brushes in full working order and good condition at all times.
Keep air tunnels on top of machines clean and purifiers properly set.
Keep covers taut and free from blinding at all times.
Maintain correct separation on all concentrators and maize mill aspirators.
Keep manometer readings on all filters within acceptable limits.
Maintain pneumatic hammers and pulsing units on filters in full working order at all times.
Operate heater banks at the correct controlled temperatures at all times.
Perform routine checks on the efficient operation of milling machines as directed by the Unit Manager.
Maintain the correct sorghum stock levels in the appropriate locations as required by the scheduling system.
Set and balance milling machines correctly.
Maintain a performance rate of 95% on all mills.
Conduct Pekar tests twice per shift on all finished products.
Test all finished products during each shift using the Diode Array machine and record results in the quality book.
Maintain finished product quality in line with agreed specifications. Reduce waste through the application of lean manufacturing principles.
Carry out Preventative and corrective maintenance on all milling unit.
Carry out process mapping and optimisation.

The Electrical Foreman is responsible for leading and supervising the electrical and instrumentation maintenance team to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of milling and packaging equipment. The purpose of this role :
The Boilermaker is responsible for fabrication, installation, and repair of sheet-metal, structural, and piping components across milling, packaging, and site facilities. The role includes flour transfer equipment, blow-lines, square-to-round ducting, and air and water pipeline installations, ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality workmanship to support plant and facilities reliability.
Minimum Requirements
Trade Tested Boilermaker N3
3–5 years industrial fabrication experience, preferably in FMCG, milling, or facilities environments.
Strong sheet-metal fabrication skills including square-to-round and ducting applications.
Proficient in MIG, TIG, SMAW, and oxy-acetylene welding and cutting techniques.
Experience in fabrication and installation of air and water pipelines.
Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, pipe layouts, sketches, and templates.
Experience working on blowers, blow-lines, and pneumatic conveying systems.

Fabricate and install sheet-metal components including ducting, chutes, guards, spouting, blow-lines, and blower housings.
Fabricate accurate square-to-round transitions, cones, reducers, bends, and manifolds to specification.
Manufacture and repair blower casings, fan housings, and plenum boxes ensuring correct alignment and airflow efficiency.
Fabricate, install, and repair pipelines for compressed air and water services, including supports, brackets, and isolation points.
Carry out facilities-related fabrication work such as platforms, handrails, walkways, stairs, frames, and general plant steelwork.
Install and align pneumatic blow-lines and air services, ensuring correct routing, expansion allowance, and support spacing.
Perform welding using MIG, TIG, Stick (SMAW), and oxyacetylene (cutting and brazing).

We are seeking a Group Artisan Development Specialist to support our Baking & Groceries Division on a 24-month fixed-term contract. This role reports to the Learning & Development Executive and will be based in Pretoria (Gauteng).
The purpose of this role is to ensure the effective development, quality assurance, and progression of artisans, apprentices, and practical students within the RCL FOODS Baking and Groceries Operating Businesses.
The role works in close collaboration with Engineering Managers, Maintenance Teams, HR, SETAs, and Training Centres to ensure:
- Artisan and student competency gap analyses are conducted
- Training programmes are designed, implemented, monitored, and seamlessly executed
- RCL artisans, apprentices, and apprentices’ practical students and artisan mentors are fully trained and supported
- Training delivery meets QCTO, SETA, and Occupational Curriculum requirements, creating a future skills pipeline
Minimum Requirements
Qualified Artisan in a recognised electrical or mechanical trade.
Higher Certificate in Education or equivalent adult education qualification/ A National Diploma in OD ETDP, HRD, or HRM will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 5 years’ post-trade industry experience, with Subject Matter Expert (SME) capability; experience in a Foreman or relevant leadership capacity will be advantages.
Minimum 8–10 years’ overall experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
