Who’s who in the tech space

This position reports to the Data Platform Engineering Manager

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

  • Work closely with stakeholders, Data Engineers and BI Analysts to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions.
  • Responsible for the full life-cycle development, implementation, production support, and performance tuning of the Enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Marts, and Business Intelligence Reporting environments.
  • Design and implement reporting and analytical solutions.
  • Analyses business and functional requirements and translates these requirements into robust, scalable, operable solutions.
  • Help to maintain our Kappa & Lambda event-driven architecture built on BigQuery, DataForm and Looker.
  • Ensuring that the data pipelines and general support infrastructure continue to run and operate in the most efficient manner.
  • Provide operational support, bug fixes, and performance enhancements.
  • Automating data extraction and report update processes.
  • Data validation and integrity testing.
  • Data cleansing and multidimensional data modeling.
  • Optimisation of data models.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering and a minimum of 3 years experience in a software/technology environment is required.
  • In the event that a candidate does not have a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Diploma (in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering), an equivalent experience requirement must be met, which equates to a minimum of 6 years experience in a software/technology environment.
  • 4 – 6 years related experience
  • 1 – 2 years of coding experience in Python and JavaScript (advantageous)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience using a BI reporting tools (e.g. QlikView, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Looker, etc.)
  • Minimum 4 years SQL experience
  • A thorough understanding of computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms
  • A solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including Linux and operating systems, networking
  • Experience using Looker, BigQuery and Dataform is advantageous
  • OLAP and multidimensional cube design experience
  • Familiar with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Github Actions
  • Have experience with Google Cloud, or another cloud provider (architecture, operations)
  • High proficiency in working with large data sets and business models
  • Experience with Domain Driven Design (DDD) is advantageous
  • Experience working in Scrum and Sprint Agile methodologies is advantageous
  • Retail or e-commerce industry experience beneficial

DC Industrial Engineer

This position reports to the DC Industrial Engineering Manager.

Your responsibilities will include:

● Procurement of equipment to support operational needs
● Management and control of all project costs
● Change management
● Supplier contract and quotations’ negotiations
● Evaluate core processes within the DC operation and integrate them in a unique and creative way to solve business problems.
● Design and conduct time and motion studies to develop standard work routines; best practises and realistic/measurable productivity expectations.
● Collaborate and communicate the above mentioned with the Head of Departments (HODs) and Development team.
● Performing routine audits of systems and operational processes.
● Advise on improvements of Key Performance Indicators that impacts operations and processes with different stakeholders.
● Conduct RCA to identify uncommon and everyday issues within DC operations.
● Perform data analysis to identify opportunities and risks in storage optimisation; material handling and process conformance.
● Capture; design and make recommendations to process flow through risk, security and productivity gap analysis.
● Develop and maintain work standards and characteristics that promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
● Design, implement and maintain 5s initiatives across all departments.
● Develop inhouse forecasting models for packaging, consumables, assets and labour based on volumes and budget.
● Support continuous improvement projects and initiatives by actively adhering to lean principles, design of experiments (ex: Six Sigma; Simulation design etc.)
● Assist in identifying facility design requirements based on activity levels, flow and business requirements.
● Design and modify facility and process drawings using AutoCAD
● Development and construction of tools to aid operations in their day to day activities.

Franchise Manager

Your responsibilities can include:

  • Assisting in the setting up of SOP’s for all clients across the delivery platform
  • Constantly monitor and upgrade SOP’s where necessary
  • Assist with the training and set up of new Franchises
  • Train SOP’s at a Franchisee level
  • Monitor, manage and maintain the required Franchise service levels
  • Adherence of Franchisees to Hub Setup Manual and Franchise Agreement

Qualifications and experience:

  • Matric (grade 12) certificate or similar
  • 3 years top management experience
  • Microsoft Office experience in word, excel and PowerPoint
  • Training experience will be beneficial
  • Operational experience managing national or regional operations
  • Previous hospitality/retail Franchise working experience will be advantageous
  • Previous experience in the logistics industry is not required
