Responsibilities
- Assist to prepare the relevant notes for the AFS/IFS in accordance with GRAP accounting standards.
- Assist in performing special analysis of complex technical matters as required and recommend solutions to complex business issues.
- Oversee the assessment of internal systems controls within your area and identify gaps and recommend strategies for improvement.
- Contribute to the development of financial policies and processes.
- Ensure adherence to legislative requirements and deadlines.
- Registration and co-ordinating of projects according to the agreements.
- Perform projects’ accounting functions including billing of projects.
- Prepare journal entries to recognise income and classify expenses.
- Compile fundraising schedule and send to fundraising team.
- Monitor, close and communicate overspent projects to the relevant project managers.
- Ensure billing control accounts are zero on monthly basis.
- Complete Accurate notes for financial statements. Manage and reconcile all general ledger accounts relevant to special projects.
- Monitoring and controlling of own assets.
- Review financial reports to ensure errors are prevented and/or detected for example.
- misallocations, omissions, and the need for changes in operational processed.
- Co-ordinate preparation and review of the audit evidence files.
- Coordinate and submission of responses to auditors in a timely manner.
- Address any other finance related queries from any structures.
- Establish and maintain relationships with the business units and SM’s to obtain information pertinent to reports prepared.
- Administer investment portfolio of the organisation.
- Perform project accounting functions.
- Administer the parks development fund and land acquisition fund.
- Monitor and report on sections monthly expenditure.
- Responsible for all VAT administration and control functions
- Perform VAT reconciliation for SANParks.
- Submit returns to SARS and hand payment to the bank supervisor.
- Engage with SARS on any VAT matter.
- Assist Senior Manager to coordinate annual training on Special project administration.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to finance staff on accounting within the different categories of special projects.

1X Field Ranger
A vacancy currently exists in the Golden Gate Highlands National Park: Witkrans Section, for a Field Ranger in the Conservation Department. The successful candidate will report to the Field Ranger Corporals.

- National Certificate (NQF Level 2) in Nature Conservation: Resource
- National Certificate (NQF Level 5) in Natural Resource Management added as advantage.

- Accredited Firearm Competency (NQF level 4) – Handgun, Semi-automatic Rifle. Self- Loading Rifle.
- EMI Grade 5 designation added advantage but must qualify in stipulated period.

Responsibilities
- Gather information for the implementation of management plans through using electronic devices.
- Ensuring the natural, recreational, wildlife and cultural assets of the natural environment are protected, enhanced, and managed.
- To maintain law and order amongst staff members, guests, and all other stakeholders within the protected area.
- To conduct effective patrols and execute anti-poaching operations, through deployment, observation posts and camping.
- To assist Corporals with biodiversity monitoring, asset control and administration tasks.
- Assistance with visitor management and safety when required.
- Assisting with erecting and maintaining fences.
- Assisting with soil erosion and invasive plant control.
- Correctly use and maintain field communication equipment.
- Assist with wildfire suppression, conducting prescribed burns and preparation of fire breaks.
- Assist with game capture and culling.

3X Buyer: Supply Chain Management (Fixed Term)

Procurement And Demand Management
- Provide administration support in bid/quotation process in line with the Demand Management Plan
- Generate Purchase Orders
- Follow up on outstanding invoices with the relevant end user for generated purchase orders
Records And Reporting
- To maintain appropriate record of Standard Bidding Documents
- To keep a record of all received requisitions and invoices
- Submit SCM Registers on monthly basis to SCM Practitioner
Contract Monitoring
- Monitoring of contract management and registers
- Assist with updating the contract registers including expenditures.
- Coordinating the monthly contract management meeting
- Issue formal notice of contract expiry dates and spending to end users
- Sending contract expiry letters to the service providers
- Perform any other responsibilities as assigned to by the supervisor
