An honors student studying towards a Master’s degree and or a master’s degree studying towards a PhD in any of the following fields: Linguistics, Language Studies, Communication Studies, or a closely related field.

Duties

To provide academic writing support for the four (4) Faculties (Faculty of Science, Engineering & Agriculture (FSEA), Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences & Education (FHSSE), Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), and Faculty of Management, Commerce & Law (FCML) as follows:
Provide one‑on‑one student consultations on academic writing, including assignments, essays, reports, projects, and other assessments.
Conduct writing workshops, seminars, and small-group interventions.
Support students with understanding academic writing conventions such as structure, argumentation, coherence, referencing, and academic integrity.
Maintain consultation records, compile reports, and perform filing and other administrative tasks.
Work closely with faculty staff and the Academic Writing Unit to ensure alignment with disciplinary writing expectations.
Offer writing assistance via contact sessions, online platforms, and blended support models.
Provide tailored writing support to students with varied learning abilities, including those at risk or requiring additional support.
Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to the enhancement of writing support initiatives.
Demonstrate flexibility, willingness to learn, and a strong student‑centred approach.
