An established accounting firm situated in the Durban North Area is recruiting a junior payroll assistant/secretarial assistant to join its payroll outsourcing department. The successful applicant should have their matric and ideally have studied/ be studying further with a minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in a related field. Duties will include assisting with the generation of payslips, completion and Submission of Workmen’s Compensation; SARS E-Filing, Completion, and Submission of EMP 201 returns; Easyfile- Completion, Reconciliations, and Submission of EMP 501 returns; UIF Submissions / Labour Department Queries; and Full CIPC Function (Company Registration, Amendments, Annual Returns, etc.) Because this is a position of trust, only candidates that have a clear criminal record, credit record, and traceable references will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates from the surrounding areas and have their own transport.

This is not a standard PA/ Secretarial/ Administration position. Only applicants that have a tertiary qualification, have worked at an executive level, live in the surrounding areas with their own vehicles and ideally have experience in a professional industry (legal, finance, etc) will be considered. Duties will include supporting the director with daily administration, calendar management, travel schedules, project coordination, delivering presentations, answering calls, etc. in addition to assisting them with reading, researching, and routing correspondence; drafting letters and documents; collecting and analyzing information; and coordinating projects by capturing timelines and strategies and delivering progress updates. The successful applicant will be required to process monthly payrolls and submit monthly and annual statutory returns (EMP201, EMP501, WC, UIF); in addition to the formation of new companies, updating company details with CIPC, maintaining company statutory records, preparing of company resolutions; filing of provisional and annual income tax returns for companies, CC’s and individuals; and dealing with SARS and CIPC on queries. Applicants should have a minimum matric, with a preference given to applicants who have studied further, and 3-5 years of payroll administration experience for multiple companies. PaySpace Software experience is an advantage, but candidates with VIP and Pastel Payroll experience will be considered.
