- Basic training qualification (Metro Police Diploma);
- A Degree in Policing at NQF level 7;
- 9 years or more relevant experience required inclusive of proven 4 years of managerial

Primary Function:
Manage operational and administrative activities at the regional level within the
Metropolitan City of Johannesburg to address the following key performance areas that
includes but are not limited to crime prevention, traffic management, By law
management and to ensure the implementation of ward- based policing programmes,
monitoring evaluating and reporting sequences of the outcomes associated with plans
and procedural applications designed to accomplish key delivery objectives that all the
regions are to achieve.

Control and direct all aspects for the effective functioning of the Internal Affairs
Directorate (the Directorate) through the implementation of strategies and operational
plans investigating alleged corruption and fraud and submitting to the Chief of Police
with punitive recommendations.

- Lead and direct the internal affairs investigative function of JMPD;
- Representative of the directorate in cases, inquiries and tribunals;
- Lead the provision of practical training and guidance to management on procedures
associated with industrial relations processes; - Direct the execution of specific administrative task / responsibilities associated with the
function; - Apply /key principles of fraud risk management;
- Breaking problem into parts, identifying key issues, relating them to statute and case law
and controlling cogent arguments to support a position; - Establish a workforce to attain maximise performance to achieve the directorate
objectives; - Practise good governance and management of risk;
- Communicate Internal Affairs information understandably.
- Ability to identify and deal with ethical issues and conflicts of interest.
