Job description

Duties and responsibilities

•     Ensure open communication between company and customer

•     Liaise with client regarding queries or other job related enquiries

•     Distribution of enquiries to various departments

•     Liaise with technical & sales departments to ensure accurate quoting

•     Timeous and accurate quotations and invoicing

•     Liaising and maintain open communication with manufacturers where required

•     Liaising with suppliers to ensure co-ordination of all external work is conducted in a timeous manner

•     Quotation follow-ups.

•     Upon confirmation, proceed with work scheduling and team mobilization

•     Arranging of travel requirements for service technicians in Africa

•     Ensure jobs are controlled and coordinated within budget

•     Arrange subsistence, communication and insurance for travelling technicians

•     Check certificates and time sheets after engineers return

•     Ensure all front-end information is accurate and complete

•     Responsible for remaining informed of the latest pricing policies

•     Ensure all job info and costs are captured accurately throughout job costing process

•     Maintain live records on the CRM system

•     Maintain manufacturers’ certification records

•     Ensure proper paperwork is submitted to accounts department

•     Ensure accounts are opened for all new clients

Minimum requirements

•    

Education, experience and competencies required

•     Grade 12 (minimum)

•     At least 3 years administration experience

•     CRM system experience

•     Technical knowledge of the marine safety and services industry would be advantageous

•     Creative and enthusiastic

•     Strong communication skills at all levels, both written and oral

•     Good negotiation skills

•     Project management skills

•     Fully PC literate with a sound understanding of Microsoft office tools

•     Client liaison training and/or experience advantageous

•     Ability to interact with managers, customers and sales executives

•     Ability to make and action decisions in an effective manner

•     Well organized with an attention to exacting detail

Introduction

United Container Depots is looking to secure the permanent services of an EMR Supervisor. The successful incumbent must be able to effectively manage all aspects of Depot production, planning and executing the maintenance and repairs of all customers equipment entering and exiting the depot, overseeing the teams in the workshop, reefer bay and equipping all staff members with the necessary tools, materials and parts to carry out their daily functions.

Job description

The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Planning and drawing up all internal move lists into and out of production areas.
  • Ensuring the delivery of exceptional operational throughput and maintaining high standards throughout the production areas.
  • Ensuring compliance of operation’s SOP.
  • Planning staff production.
  • Planning overtime and shifts (technicians).
  • Planning for sufficient parts, consumables, gasses and materials needed for production.
  • Requesting forecasts and planning accordingly.
  • Preparing and having all job cards available for production daily.
  • Recording all jobs in the workshop, running an efficient, ethical and productive area.
  • Formulating updates and reports to tie in for invoicing.
  • Managing all staff within the production area and lead team.
  • Managing Key Accounts where EMR Supervisor has been requested to do so.
  • Implementing company objectives.
  • Overseeing property, equipment and infrastructure management (Depot maintenance and UCD image in your areas of supervision).
  • Purchasing of equipment & materials within SOP guidelines.
  • Managing assets & tools register.
  • Reporting to H/O & Managers, financial, operational, asset usage, weekly and monthly.
  • Recording all Special Preparations (PTI, STERI, COT, CA AND Gassing preparations).

Minimum requirements

Qualification/s:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
  • Reefer courses/Business Management/Operational Management

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years’ relevant industry experience.

Required skills:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, analyse and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

Job description

The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Ensuring that the depot is running efficiently within cost and quality parameters, while ensuring container production line utilisation is planned at a maximum.
  • Ensuring the alignment of the Depot’s strategy and objectives with that of UCD.
  • Management of operations, workshop, warehouse, reefer, yard, etc.
  • Maintaining and managing customer relationships.
  • Communicating the vision, mission and objectives of UCD to the team.
  • Developing and maintaining sound relations with all stakeholders.
  • Upholding ethical business practices and adhere to all contractual obligations.
  • Managing manpower, costs, ensuring maintenance of acceptable work standards and discipline.
  • Managing and supporting SHEQ initiatives and objectives.

Minimum requirements

Qualification/s:

  • A business management degree/diploma from a tertiary institution.

Experience

  • A minimum of six years related experience
  • Knowledge of business management systems

Required skills:

  • Ability to collect, analyze and use relevant information.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Understanding of Labor law and HR/IR Procedures.
