Brief Description
Language Services provide the mechanism to engage all citizens through translating Parliamentary documents and bills, interpreting services for Houses and Committee proceedings, public hearings and Oversight visits, and a record of parliamentary debates through Hansard reporting for the Houses of Parliament. Language Services contribute to the strategic goal of meaningful involvement and participation by citizens and all interest groups by ensuring the availability of all official languages during Parliamentary proceedings, public hearings, oversight visits, and the consultation process. This includes a feedback mechanism for engagement with the public and interest groups, particularly the marginalised and vulnerable groups. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate translation services, reporting error-free Hansard debates, and providing Parliamentary interpreting and translation services in English and isiXhosa.

Job Requirements
To qualify, you must have: • Grade 12/NQF Level 4 plus Relevant Bachelor’s Degree with IsiXhosa as a major or related qualification in Languages with applicable isiXhosa as a major at NQF Level 7. • A minimum of 3 years’ language practitioner experience, having performed translation, terminology development, and interpreting services within a similar environment.

Job Requirements
