Job Purpose
To operate tractors on CPUT campuses. Mainly mowing of sports fields and open spaces
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Matric/Grade 12 or Equivalent NQF
- Valid Driver’s license (code 8)
- Tractor Driver Certificate
- At least two (2) years’ relevant experience in similar role
- Driving tractor with trailer/attachments
Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
- Driving Tractor with attachments to mow sports fields and open spaces .
- Driving tractor with trailer to collect garden refuse on campus .
- Fertilization
- Storekeeping duties – Ensure safekeeping of mowing equipment and other stock items
- Internal Liaison
- Driving – Load and unload garden supplies
- Planting – Assist in planting and transplant flowers, shrubs, trees and lawns
- General garden maintenance
Competencies
- Knowledge of tractor functions.
- Knowledge of grass mowing with tractor
- Knowledge of basic tractor and tractor equipment maintenance
- Ability to work independently
- Analysing basic problem
- Knowledge of computerized controllers
- Basic pruning knowledge
