PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To conduct maintenance and emergency repairs safely on trackless mobile machinery

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) is essential
  • Recognized relevant Trade qualification (section 13) is essential
  • OR
  • Proof of recognised completed apprenticeship contract (completed by means of effluxion of time) AND NTC 2 (Relevant Trade Theory) Qualification is essential.
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience as an Auto Electrician is essential.
  • Valid Medical certificate or medically fit to obtain such a certificate

COMPETENCIES:

  • Build basic auto electrical circuits
  • Construct simple electro-pneumatic/hydraulic circuits
  • Knowledge of TMM Machines
  • Construct and test advanced electronic circuits
  • Understand and apply a problem-solving technique
  • Understand basic electrical and mechanical engineering principles

  • Fitting and wiring up auxiliary auto-electrical equipment
  • Removing and fitting automobile mechanical and electrical components
  • Removing, testing, fitting, and servicing automobile batteries
  • Servicing and repairing electronic and conventional automobile ignition systems
  • Tracing and repairing faults on advanced auto electrical circuits
  • Diagnosing, testing, and repairing conventional automobile systems
  • Leading the team, planning, allocating and assessing their work
  • Conducting on-the-job coaching
  • Attending to callouts with regards to breakdowns.

  • Liaises with the operational management team regarding daily, weekly and monthly progress plans.
  • Oversees execution of all work practices to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Communicates progress of the section against operational targets and objectives by regular communication to subordinates through various forms and forums.
  • Plans daily, weekly and monthly work requirements and prioritises such with the operational team.
  • Liaises with the other Foremen to ensure that possible problems do not overlap with other sections and are pro-actively identified and discussed.
  • Identifies operational priorities within the section to ensure optimization of the sections performance.
  • Ensures that required job instructions are available to employees.
  • Establishes procedures for abnormal work requirements, which fall outside of standard procedures.

  • PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
  • To implement and maintain occupational hygiene programmes to ensure the health and safety of employees and to maintain the ISO17020 system to ensure legal compliance.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • NQF level 6 qualification in Occupational Hygiene.
  • NQF level 7 qualification in Occupational Hygiene will be a definite advantage.
  • SAIOH Technologist registration with Occupational Legal Knowledge certification essential.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years post qualification and SANAS / ISO 17020 management system experience.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations including the OHS Act.
  • Knowledge of SANAS / ISO 17020 and sampling methodology.
  • Computer literacy, system management- and report writing skills.
  • Good communication-, interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Must be customer orientated, a team player with strong technical- and problem-solving skills.
  • Medically fit for both BMR and PMR
  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
  • Measure, monitor, evaluate and report on occupational hygiene stress factors and environmental conditions related to occupational hygiene.
  • Conduct all required occupational hygiene testing.
  • Conduct regular inspections & audits of the workplace environment to identify hazards and risks related to occupational hygiene and conduct case studies accordingly.
  • Participate in incident investigations and make recommendations of possible corrective / preventive measures.
  • Ensure ventilation systems are monitored continuously, and measurements are evaluated and reported.
  • Manage personal sampling programme and ensure legal requirements and company standards are adhered to.
  • Ensure control measures are implemented and supervise contractors where required.
  • Attend relevant meetings, control and manage expenditure against approved budget and maintain SANAS / ISO 17020 management systems.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees in terms of best occupational hygiene practice and conduct pregnancy assessments as per company policy.
