Supervisor Maintenance Execution – Richards Bay

ABOUT HILLSIDE:

Our Hillside Aluminium smelter in Richards Bay produces high-quality, primary aluminium for the domestic and export markets.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a permanent full-time position.

As a Supervisor Maintenance Execution, you will be responsible to lead a team of multi-skilled artisans and be responsible for the execution of Work Management and supervise work execution, inspections and observations in a safe and sustainable manner in Maintenance North.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• You will be responsible for well-designed work to ensure safe execution of all work;

• Ensuring effective execution of all maintenance activities, including breakdowns while working on shift;

• To co-ordinate through effective communication and prioritization plant equipment breakdown repairs to guarantee minimum downtime;

• Ensuring quality execution and effective handover to production for all planned and breakdown maintenance activities;

• Delivery of maintenance KPI’s for your section;

• Manage the staffing and development of personnel & contractors within your team;

• Be prepared to work shifts if needed and perform standby duties from time to time as required by the organisation.

• Understand criticality of GTCs and FTCs in maintaining license to operate.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Must have a minimum of 4 – 6 years maintenance experience of which 1 year is in a supervisory capacity;

• Acting opportunities in a supervisor role will be advantageous.

Qualifications for this role are:

• National Diploma in a Technical field of study OR a  T3/S4 in an Engineering field of study;

• Valid Trade Test.

Administrator Supply Warehouse – Richards Bay

This role is a permanent full-time position.

As an Administrator Warehouse, you be responsible for effectively receiving stock binning, issuing, deliveries, stock counts and control.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Physical receipt, validating against purchase order and inspection of goods received at the warehouse and binning these items;

• Posts the goods issue, runs the pick list if required and consolidates at the dispatch area if delivery is required;

• Prepares goods for dispatch and delivers to the delivery points;

• Counts inventory items to balance system stocks against the stock at the physical location;

• Reviews the Returns Document to determine the type of return and maintains follow on delivery or transport order documents as required to complete the logistics process;

• Expedites the upliftment of bought out items;

• Good Housekeeping, keeps the warehouse, yards and equipment clean and neat;

• Responsible for Safe goods handling, operation of equipment and hazardous chemicals.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Logistics/Warehouse/Supply Chain;

• Computer literacy in MS Suite (Excel/Word) is essential;

• Valid Code B (08) Driver’s License is essential;

• Forklift License & HDV license is advantageous;

• Experience working on SAP is advantageous.

Qualifications for this role are:

• Grade 12 with a Certificate Logistics/Warehouse/Supply.

Specialist Training Talent Development and Planning

ABOUT HMM

Hotazel Manganese Mines (HMM) is made up of two Manganese mines Mamatwan and Wessels. Both operations are located in the Kalahari Basin, home to 80 per cent of the world’s manganese reserves.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a permanent full-time position.  As a Specialist Training: Talent Development & Planning, you will be responsible for all talent development programs at HMM as well as the medium- and long-term planning & improvement processes for the HMM Training function. Hereby ensuring that HMM training function can effectively deliver on its mandate and compliance to all South32 & Regulatory requirements.

Other key responsibilities include:

•Responsible for the coordination and management of Talent development programmes (Learnerships, Graduates in training, Bursaries, etc)

•Plan and schedule training as per Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and SLP and assist with uploading the training plan on the LMS.

•Manage all budgets relevant to Talent development

•Manage all relevant recruitment processes

•Manage and Maintenance of Learning Records, conduct general Training Administration and manage Training Matrices

•Responsible for the development and execution of the Training needs analysis

•Assist with the development of Business and 90-day plans

•Assist with improvement initiatives for the training department.

•Ensure all talent programmes beneficiaries are allocated with a mentor and mentor agreements are in place.

•Ensure that all training interventions are conducted as per Skills Development Act and meets BBBEE, SLP, Mining Charter requirements as well as ISO 9001: 2015.

•Assist HMM Line Management with the compilation of Individual Development Plans (IDP’s)

•Manage and track IDPs to ensure it is linked to development areas as indicated in KPI’s.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

•Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in mining of which at least 2 years in a Training Supervisory Capacity or Human Resource Management (specializing in Talent management);

•Knowledge of the Skills Development Act, BBBEE, SLP, Mining Charter and EE Act & MHSA, ISO 9001:2015;

•Knowledge of learner management system;

•Knowledge of Talent management process

•Knowledge of coaching and mentoring programs

•Extensive knowledge, experience and practice  in Planning and scheduling

Qualifications for this role are:

•Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Development / Industrial psychology;

•MQA registered Assessor

•Moderator (advantageous);

•Creates and plans Work Orders as per defined scope that enables effective deployment of resources;

•Complies with the Work Management processes to schedule work based on the prioritization of the task;

•Collaborates with Supply to determine the availability of required Materials and Services;

•Builds and communicate accurate weekly and monthly work schedules reflecting all Work management activities;

•Review Process Discipline for the Week as per the Work Performance Management Process;

•Analyse Weekly and Monthly Metrics as per the Work Performance Management Process;

•Initiate WM Master Data based on equipment strategy reviews, failure analysis and identified quality errors.

•Advise Maintenance Supervisor on the availability of critical spares and components.

•Provides pro-active advice on equipment that need replacement  based on trends.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

•Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Maintenance in either processing plants or maintenance of TMMs;

•Sound knowledge of Fundamentals of Maintenance and Planning Principles;

•Previous Maintenance Planning experience & SAP knowledge is advantageous;

Qualifications for this role are:

• N3 Technical Certificate;

• Valid trade test;

• Grade 12.

Auto Electrician – Wessels Mine

ABOUT WESSELS

The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world’s manganese. This position is based at our Wessels Mine which represents one of the largest manganese reserves in South Africa.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a permanent full-time position.

As an Auto Electrician, you will be responsible for for timely installation, repair and maintenance of equipment to ensure that mining activities are executed in a safe manner as well as operate equipment and tests all working parts in functional area to ensure proper utilization.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Interprets and coordinates pre-work with regards to repairs, interpretation of hydraulic diagrams, planned and predictive maintenance;

• Accesses any area safely to perform necessary maintenance on machines or equipment;

• Performs safety inspections of equipment and assesses risks on equipment;

• Maintains a clean and safe worksite;

• Ensures the upkeep of maintenance tools and equipment;

• Coordinates activities associated with trouble-shooting and repairing maintenance equipment.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Must have a minimum of 2 years’ technical experience on Underground Mining Equipment (CAT R1600/R1700 Loaders, CAT AD30 Trucks, Fermel Marveriks, Atlas Copco 282 Rocket Boomer, Atlas Copco 282s, Atlas Copco 235H Boltecs, Epiroc Boomer S2);

• Experience in performing major re-wiring and harness repairs on these types of machines will be advantageous;

• SAP & CAT ET, SIS software knowledge will be advantageous.

Qualifications for this role are:

• Grade 12;

• N2 Technical Certificate;

• Valid drivers license;

• Auto Electrician Trade Test
