Main Objectives of the Position

Under the supervision of the Program Director – The Exploration Manager will lead and execute all exploration activities under Mutanda Mining (MUMI), with a focus on:

  • Delivering current exploration programs in the DRC, including Joint Ventures (JVs)
  • Expanding the greenfields portfolio through identification and acquisition of prospective tenements
  • Scoping and executing field exploration aligned to best practices, in support of MUMI’s Life of Asset 2026 (LoA2026) strategy

This is a non-regional role, fully dedicated to MUMI’s exploration growth and future resource base development.

Minimum Qualification

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Geology or an equivalent geoscience discipline
  • Postgraduate qualifications or professional certification are considered an advantage

Required Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of mineral exploration experience, with at least 5 years in a senior or managerial role
  • Proven background in copper-cobalt (base metals) exploration
  • Experience leading projects from grassroots to Feasibility Study (FS) stage
  • Previous work experience in Africa or similar jurisdictions
  • Strong familiarity with JV management and government permitting processes

Required Skills

  • Deep expertise in mineral systems, structural geology, and target generation
  • Advanced technical knowledge in exploration methods, including 2D/3D modelling (e.g., Leapfrog, Micromine)
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities

 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage execution of existing DRC-based exploration programs under MUMI
  • Expand MUMI’s exploration footprint through acquisition and development of high-potential greenfield targets
  • Scope, plan, and implement best-practice exploration programs using integrated techniques (geophysics, geochemistry, drilling, etc.)
  • Conduct technical due diligence on potential new assets or JV opportunities
  • Lead and mentor a team of geologists and exploration personnel, ensuring delivery and development

Responsibilities

Daily and Monthly Reporting

  • Daily P&L Reporting: Generate accurate and timely daily Profit and Loss (P&L) reports. This includes detailed P&L attribution and commentary to explain key drivers and variances, providing insight for traders and senior management.
  • Position Reporting: Produce daily position reports with breakdowns by strategy, region, and instrument. Deliver clear analysis and commentary on position movements.

Main Objective of the Position

The Program Director will provide executive leadership, direction, and governance for the successful delivery of the Mutanda Mining (MUMI) Expansion Program, targeting the delivery of 6 million tons (6MT) and beyond production strategy.

This role will manage and coordinate the integrated portfolio of intermediate and major capital projects from Feasibility (FS) through to Execution (EXE), including oversight of EPCM delivery. The Program Director acts as the single-point owner for EPCM contracts in-country and ensures alignment between strategic business objectives and project execution.

  • At least 20 years of leadership experience in major capital project delivery, ideally in the mining or metallurgical sectors
  • Proven track record in managing multi-disciplinary project portfolios, EPCM oversight, and executing complex projects in challenging environments
  • Demonstrated experience delivering Feasibility Studies and major capital projects in Africa or similar contexts

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the overall MUMI Expansion Program in line with the 6MT+ strategy and Glencore’s Project Guidelines
  • Provide strategic direction and governance for Feasibility and Execution phases of all key projects
  • Ensure integrated planning, cost control, and execution across project streams (experience in Roaster construction, Underground, Exploration would be ideal)

Project Manager – Expansion Program

Mutanda Mining (MUMI S.A.R.L) is a mining company whose registered office is at No. 4746, Avenue Laurent Désiré Kabila, Mutoshi District, Manika Commune, City of Kolwezi. Its operating headquarters, the center of its main activities, is located about 42 km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

MUMI S.A.R.L is an open-pit mining site used for the extraction of copper and cobalt ores. Mutanda Mining has a hydrometallurgical plant and a sulfuric acid manufacturing plant.

Main Objective of the Position

The Project Manager will lead the Feasibility Study (FS) and Execution (EXE) phases of the critical processing upgrade and expansion project at MUMI.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • Postgraduate studies or certification in Project Management (PMP, Prince2) preferred

Required Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in metallurgical or chemical processing projects
  • Proven experience delivering mid-scale plant FS and EXE phases, ideally within base metals sector

  • Develop and refine the scope, execution plan, and budget (~$200M) in accordance with LoA2026 objectives

Superintendent – MTS Administration

Job Description

This role will be responsible for the mine technical services department administration, managing budgets (OPEX and CAPEX), ensuring efficient workflows, and implementing policies in contract management, contract tenders, administration requests, purchase orders and internal orders generation. The person in this position will ensure compliance, managing documentation of all contracts. This position will be responsible for managing yearly CAPEX and OPEX, ensuring compliance with Budget.


He/She will have, among other things, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive list):

  • Manage the yearly CAPEX and OPEX, giving constant feedback to area managers and superintendents.
  • Create projects in CMF and follow its progress until an internal order is issued.
  • Manage department’s contracts and provide advice to contract owners (including monthly accruals)

  • Use of ORB for Admin requests.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Contract management and Cost Control.
  • Recognized bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering or Master in Administration/Logistics.
  • Experience working with a Mine Operations team is an advantage.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Experience with ORB, Coupa, and Administration Software’s.
  • Advanced skills excel.
  • Must have a strong understanding of contract laws and mining practices.

OBJECTIVES:

Lead the development and implementation of a robust materials master data governance framework across the Glencore Copper department’s global operations:

This role will lead the definition and delivery planning of the underground scope as a key component of the Life of Asset 2026 (LoA2026) strategy.
