Job Overview

The Regional Parts Sales Manager (RPSM) is responsible for developing and executing regional parts sales and support strategies through Komatsu’s dealer and distributor network, with an initial focus on South Africa and the surrounding regions. This role is designed to support current business needs while maintaining flexibility to expand into additional territories as required by the evolving demands of Komatsu’s global aftermarket business. The RPSM exists to grow aftermarket revenue, improve parts market share, and ensure best-in-class support across Komatsu’s surface mining portfolio. Serving as the primary link between regional distributors and Komatsu factories and Parts Distribution Centers (PDCs), the RPSM ensures alignment with Komatsu’s go-to-market strategy, focusing on distributor enablement and dealer-led customer support in alignment with Komatsu’s evolved dealer-focused operating model.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement parts sales and support strategies across assigned regions to increase Komatsu aftermarket market share and business performance
  • Collaborate with dealers and internal stakeholders to identify market opportunities, establish sales targets, and execute territory business plans aligned with Komatsu’s strategic objectives
  • Serve as the primary liaison between dealers and Komatsu functions (e.g., factories, supply chain, PDCs) to resolve delivery challenges, drive performance, and uphold world-class service standards
  • Monitor and report on regional aftermarket KPIs and sales performance; analyze variances and implement corrective actions as necessary
  • Support pricing strategy execution and develop competitive programs, including special quotations for major opportunities
  • Lead regular distributor business reviews, Gemba visits, and Hansei sessions to promote continuous improvement and alignment
  • Oversee regional training initiatives, product launches, and aftermarket campaigns to enhance dealer capability and customer value
  • Manage regional inventory programs, consignment contracts, and audit compliance to ensure alignment with operational and financial standards

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in parts sales, marketing, or aftermarket support roles within heavy equipment or mining industries.
  • Advanced knowledge of distribution models and regional business practices in assigned territories.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, project management, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP, Salesforce, and the ability to learn Komatsu systems quickly.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 70%, including international travel across South Africa.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Komatsu mining products or equivalent surface mining equipment
  • Prior experience supporting a dealer-based sales network
  • Advanced data analytics or forecasting experience in aftermarket sales
  • Multi-lingual capabilities (regional languages)
  • Exposure to consignment inventory models and pricing governance

Lead the formulation and implementation of the Customer Training development strategy, aligning it with changing customer demands, company goals, and service excellence.

The position will be based at Emalahleni, and the incumbent will report to the Sales and Services Manager.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the formulation and implementation of the Customer Training development strategy, aligning it with changing customer demands, company goals, and service excellence;
  • Develop and lead the Customer Training Centre to meet the evolving needs of both customers and internal staff;
  • Take ownership of the Customer Training budget, ensuring cost control and effective allocation of resources;
  • Manage and coordinate the upgrading of training materials, lesson plans, and simulators in compliance with SAQA requirements;
  • Drive the development and timely delivery of new training content to ensure minimal disruption to customer operations;
  • Plan and manage Specialised training classes requested by customers outside of the standard training schedule;
  • Championing the transformation of Customer Training into a self-sustaining, value-adding function;
  • Maintain and ensure ongoing compliance with ISO standards and SAQA accreditation requirements;
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, industry bodies, SETA, and other regulatory entities;
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Technical qualification (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Mining, or related engineering discipline) – essential;
  • Diploma/certificate  in Training & Development, Human Resources, or a related field is an added advantage;
  • Certified Skills Development Facilitator;
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in technical or operator training, with curriculum development exposure with minimum 3 years in a supervisory or management role within a technical training environment;
  • Industry experience in surface or underground mining, engineering, or OEM product training (preferred);
  • Advanced report writing and excellent presentation skills;
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transport.

Job Purpose

Delivering high quality training services at an exemplary standard is our goal. You will train customers and employees in using Modular Mining products by using audio/visuals, in-seat, classroom and hands-on training methods to improve system usage and improve customer value. Develop and conduct training on MMS products, conduct UAT’s, advise/assist customers on the use of IntelliMine® applications, trouble-shoot and test applications. Design and deliver training packages to enable use of and enhance Modular supplied products. Ensure training packages are competency based and are assessed with a variety of tools to ensure competency is achieved

Ability to frequently travel throughout involving upwards of 75% of your time.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

System Troubleshooting 
Problem solve IntelliMine® application errors applying trouble shooting techniques to verify user system functionality

Training Support 
Enhance customer competencies by providing training and support to develop client skills that enable optimal product usage that will generate profitable revenues for MMSA.
Provides assistance to Sales staff in the generation of training quotes and proposals

Customer Support 
Provide high quality professional training support for customers across all Modular products developing procedures and standards for customer sites. 

Technical Support   
Provide dispatch operational direction to internal and external Customers during deployment of new systems and products by providing best practice training standards and procedures

Training delivery 
Develop training modules by creating documentation, audio visual and other tools to enable the delivery of professional training to generate profitable for MMSA revenue.

Safety 
Adheres to safe working practices both on-site and in the office, considers the safety of self and others, reports safety incidences or unsafe working practices, appropriately assesses risks and reports/remedies unsafe working conditions.

Training
Mentoring Assists in the development of more junior trainers, provides feedback on their performance. Provides training and guidance to others within the office on the functionality of Modular products.

Required Skills

Relevant Tertiary Degree
3 Years’ experience in training on Modular products and services    
3 Years’ experience in the development and delivery of training packages   
3 Years’ experience in mining operations    
Second language an advantage   
Previous truck dispatching experience highly desirable with Modular product or similar
